Hi Friends! As you all know, I’ve been dairy free for a longgg time now. I think it’s been 4 years! I’m always looking for dairy free alternatives in the dessert department because umm…have you met me? I love sweets! I’m sharing a few summer treats with Nature’s Charm dairy free/vegan products below, so keep reading to check them out!
But also- before we go further. I just wanted to say that I’m so excited to have partnered with Nature’s Charm. It’s really awesome to collaborate with a brand that I’ve been using and loving for a year now. So yes, this is legit! Even before partnering with Nature’s Charm for this blog post, they were my go-to for many coconut based products!
Years ago I spent a summer in Davidson, North Carolina and fell in love with everything southern! Hello Dollies might have been my favorite take-away from my stint in the south. You’ve never heard of Hello Dollies? You’re not alone! Apparently these southern delights are basically top secret- anytime I’ve made them up in Connecticut they are always a fan favorite, but no one has ever heard of them before. So most likely I just taught you your new favorite dessert. You’re welcome!
Hello Dollies are best described as “like a seven layer bar,” but they might be missing a few layers! They’re not lacking on flavor though. To be honest… I love making these tasty treats because they’re so easy to make! Lemme show you how below…
Step 1: gather ingredients
You’ll need:
Step 2: crush graham crackers using a blender or food processor (I use the Nutribullet)
Step 3: melt butter and add it to the crushed crackers
Step 4: Press moist graham cracker crumble into the bottom of a buttered or oiled 9 x 13 pan
Step 5: Add the layers! Layer 1- add 1/2 of unsweetened evaporated coconut milk, then add your toppings (whatever order you want, but I do pecans, chocolate, coconut shavings, then more pecans), then cover the top fully with the rest of the evaporated coconut milk
Step 6: Bake in oven at 325 degrees F for 25-30 min (once the edges get crispy and brown) * Pro tip- once they cool down, put the pan in the fridge to get them really solid before trying to cut them. By refrigerating them you can cut them to get the nice clean lines like mine below!
Whenever I’m craving a dessert, and have barley any fixings in the house, this is my go-to! It’s also super easy to make! All you have to do is freeze a can of Nature’s Charm Coconut Whipping Cream for a few hours before to prep! Then scoop the whole can into your mixer/blender, add 1/4 cup of coco powder, 1/4 cup of sugar (or to taste), and blend!
If you don’t want to add sugar to this dessert, you can use Monkfruit instead to make it a little bit healthier! I love how cool, light, and refreshing this dessert is. Especially in the summer! Sometimes I top my chocolate mousse with coco powder and the Nature’s Charm Caramel Sauce!
There are so many amazing dairy free ice creams now! And with Nature’s Charm Coconut Chocolate Fudge I can enjoy an ice cream sundae just like anyone else! You can also top your sundaes with the assortment of Nature’s Charm Caramel toppings and the Nature’s Charm Coconut Butter Scotch Sauce, all are delicious!
Thanks for reading! Make sure to try them out!
