I usually write my blog posts the day before they go live (unless it’s a collaboration post, in which case I’m working on that content for at least a few weeks to make sure it’s just right!), but typically I prefer to draft my posts the day prior that way my writing is fresh, honest, and relevant. Or at least that’s my hope! Today is no exception- it’s 3:00pm and my Sunday has been far from relaxing. I’ve been running around all morning and am almost at the bottom of my “to-do today” list. Yippie!
Today has had a bit of an exciting and unexpected twist to it though…in what can only be accurately deemed skunkgate! I went into the garage this morning to move a table that’s propped up against a wall and SURPRISE, there’s a baby skunk behind it! I’m pretty proud of myself for only screaming kind of loud as I sprinted up the driveway hoping to avoid the skunk’s spray. Luckily it didn’t spray. Thank goodness!! So three calls to animal control later and our little skunk is still just hanging out in the garage, we’re waiting it out and hoping it leaves sometime tonight. My dad suggested I have another giveaway on my blog- so whoever comments below first gets to come over, pick it up, and keep it. Ha!
ALRIGHT- now let’s talk shop on some on/ahead of trend products I’m loving! And also- lemme know what you think about this kind of post. Do you find these posts boring or do you expect me to share with you all the new and exciting stuff I discover? PLEASE let me know! Thanks!
I came across this cleanser my last visit to Inner Light Wellness (which you can read all about HERE). As I’ve said many times before, I have a bad habit of falling in love with pretty packaging. The minimalist design and skinny bottle were right up my ally! With that being said, I don’t share stuff with you just because it looks pretty. After sweating it out in the infrared sauna for 25 minutes I needed a deep cleanser to make sure my pores didn’t get clogged and this did the trick! I’m actually hoping to add it to my regular morning routine soon, but I’m also the kind of person who doesn’t want to buy a new cleanser until I finish my old one. Maybe that’s weird, but it definitely keeps me from spending alll my money on beauty products!
This book, by the author who also wrote The Devil Wears Prada, Lauren Weisberger is getting rave reviews all around. In full disclosure, I haven’t finished it yet, but am loving it so far! I just need an afternoon to plop myself at the beach, relax, and read. It takes place in Greenwich, CT with Emily (remember the redhead with an accent that only ate a cheese cube when she felt like she would pass out?), yep that one! Can’t wait to see how it ends, but yes, if you’re looking for a great read. This is it!
This brand actually might be super popular and I’m just living under a rock, so apologies if if you’re rolling your eyes right now thinking, where has this girl been? BUT I just discovered Sugar Paper and am hooked! Midway through college I fell out of using an agenda and kind of just would write stuff down on a post-it note. Not a good habit, but it worked for me. Prior to this I religiously used my Lilly Pulitzer and Kate Spade planners, but I don’t know, then I just got tired of it. My sister got me a custom planner as a present a year ago and I liked that one a lot too, but again, just kind of fell out of the habit of using it. However, I snagged a 2018 Sugar Paper agenda at Home Goods a few weeks ago and am obsessed! It’s thoughtfully put together and doesn’t have any of that extra stuff you’ll never actually use. I love the chambray fabric hardcover and its heavy-duty tabs. Unfortunately you can’t purchase their 2018 agenda online anymore, but you can sign up for their 2019 release (which I’ll be doing!) or you can browse their other products HERE!
I’ve shared about these previously, so maybe this is less of an “ahead of trend” and more of an “on trend” item, but either way, they’re awesome! How have we lived our whole lives so far being content with those ugly, hair damaging black ties? You know which ones I’m talking about! In fact you probably have one sitting on your wrist as you read this. Yep, those! I’m currently wearing a TELETIE on my wrist and one in my hair. There are so many pros to this hair tie, one being that they double as bracelets! I wear my rose gold one daily and it’s so cute! Unless you have super thick hair, I would opt for the skinnier ones, but they’re pretty affordable, so if you’re curious then get both!
