For those who aren’t wanting to leave their house right now, I’ve got you! I’m sharing 10 free things to do at home! No need to leave your house to have fun, just try something on this list! (Definition of “fun” is definitely subjective..ha!)
one // clean out your closet & create a Poshmark account to sell clothes you no longer want/wear. I feel like I deserve a bonus for coming up with a tip that can make you money without having to leave the house? Pretty good right?!
two // customize your house keys! Here’s a fun craft project for you, grab your keychain, some nail polish, and tape and get to work! Check out full details on this project here.
three // at home spa day! Start with a pedicure, move on to a manicure, and end with this antibacterial green tea facial!
four // write a hand-written letter to a friend or family member. Sitting on a thank you note you’ve been meaning to send? Haven’t talked to your friend from college in a while? Well, now is the perfect time to send them a nice note to say hi! Bonus points if you make your own card!
five // blind taste testing game. If you’re living with kids or friends or relatives here’s a fun game! Prepare a couple of items for your game players to test taste. Blend each ingredient separately and then put a small amount on a spoon. Serve each person their own spoon with the secret ingredient and have them write down their guess. Whoever gets the most guesses right wins! (some ideas of foods to use: cooked… chickpeas, beans, peppers, carrots, cauliflower, etc.!)
six // read a book/ re-read a book! Some of my recent favorite reads: When Life Gives You Lululemons & Little Fires Everywhere
seven // learn how to do calligraphy. Grab a pen and your computer and learn how to do hand lettering! Perfect this skill and it could easily turn into a side hustle!
eight // purge your beauty drawer, or vanity, or closet. Let’s be real, we all have wayyy too many beauty products. Half of them (if not more) we probably don’t even use! Now is the perfect time to purge those unused products, or reevaluate what you have before going to the store to re-stock up.
nine // do yoga or a dance class via Youtube. Just search for a yoga flow class or a dance workout class on Youtube and you’ll be able to do your workout at home! Plus, you’ll have fun doing it! Additionally, Greenwich Barre Studio is doing virtual classes on their Instagram so check that out here!
ten // start a youtube channel & make people laugh! What everyone needs right now is a little distraction. Have you always wanted to try your hand at Youtube? Now is the time! Put on your Jimmy Fallon hat and get to work coming up with laughable content that will surely distract people from the current state of affairs. Especially with sports being on hold, people are looking for FRESH & FUN stuff to watch!
eleven // build a fort! Whether you’re stuck at home with kids, with your roommates, or with your fur baby, this is the perfect activity for any and everyone! Ranger and I have been building forts most mornings for her to curl up in and she LOVES them! As I’m writing this right now she’s sleeping in her fort. How cute!
twelve // stay in the trendiest new boutique hotel… your guest bedroom! Do you forget your guest bedroom even exists? Same! This is the perfect time to transform it into a fun boutique hotel to “getaway” for a night!
thirteen // create a Quarantine Kitchen spin-off! Have you been watching my Instagram stories lately? If so, then you’ve probably seen the ridiculous stories I’ve been filming with Ranger where we turn my kitchen into a bar/restaurant and Ranger gets to order whatever she wants off the menu. Click here to watch them and if you make your own, make sure to tag me!
fourteen // virtual cocktail making class with your friends or family! Instead of just joining each other on FaceTime for a virtual happy hour (not that there is anything wrong with that), have someone take charge and teach everyone how to make their favorite drink! If you don’t all have the same ingredients, no problem! Pour yourself a glass of wine or crack open a beer, then watch and learn!
fifteen // make a mood board! Round up some old magazines, grab a glue stick (or tape) and some paper to craft your own mood board! Honestly, this is a great way to get in the right headspace and stay positive during these times!

I sure wish I had any form of humor or wit haha. The video-making thing is NOT for me when it comes to that. But the other ideas are super fun – and I can expand on them to make them work without infecting anyone 🙂
I bet you could make some great videos! I’m not so good with Youtube myself.. but now seems like as good of a time as any to learn! Lots of opportunities here to stay safe and have fun in your own home!
These are some great ideas! I’ve been organizing and cleaning like crazy. It’s refreshing to have some of these other ideas to pull from. 😊
