Hi Everyone! I’m shaking it up midweek by sharing a different kind of post today: What’s In My Shower! The amount of money I spend on my shower products is minimal. That’s actually what inspired me to write this post! Honestly, I was standing in the shower one day realizing that I’m so happy with all the products I’m using, and yet they are so affordable! Nothing fancy here, just your basic pharmacy brands, and I love them. With that being said, I spend a LOT of money on my face routine, cleanser, moisturizer, hundreds of dollars on prescription acne creams… if I were to total it up it would easily surpass $500. That’s kind of horrifying in my opinion, but on the other hand I find it necessary (but then again I’m still not seeing results even after spending all this money…sigh…maybe I need to revamp my face routine by bringing back drug store buys).
Back to my shower products though…I’m sharing what I love about each of them below, so keep reading! I’d love to hear what products you swear by and if you prefer the inexpensive brands or if you splurge on your bath products.
Live Clean Shampoo & Conditioner // I’ve recently started using these Live Clean products and love them! Where have they been all my life?! My hair is the least frizzy it’s ever been (and I spent years using the really expensive Diva Curl products). I’m a sucker for cute packaging, and I love the fun sized feel of these bottles. I bought mine at Bed Bath & Beyond, and was able to get an additional 20% off their already low price!
Pure Silk Shaving Cream // Does expensive shaving cream exist? I was actually wondering that the other day as I started writing this blog post… I mean, it probably does, right? Well, I don’t know of any top of the line shaving cream brands, but regardless I just buy whatever is cheapest at Walmart. This specific brand gets bonus points because of their “rust-proof can” so you don’t have to worry about those rust rings developing in your shower.
Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer // Again, this product is one that is relatively new to my shower routine, and again where has it been all my life?! I am obsessed with being able to apply my moisturizer before I get out of the shower, rather than applying it after and having to wait for the lotion to dry. When I shower at night and apply this my skin is still moisturized the next day!
Boscia Clear Complexion Cleanser // I’ve gone on and on about my love for Boscia products in the past. Yes they’re expensive, but yes they’re worth it! This is the cleanser I’m currently using and it’s gentle, yet powerful.
Josie Maran Exfoliating Powder // This facial exfoliator is another product that I’ve stuck with over the years because it’s just that good. I love the fact that I can control how rough I want the exfoliation to be by the amount of water I add to the powder.
Aveeno Skin Relief // My skin has been pretty unhappy with this cold, dry weather, which is why I’ve been using this skin relief body wash. It doesn’t irritate my skin further, which is a win in my book!
100% Homemade Soap // My dad makes his own soap, which is so cool! I believe this is an old-school kind of lye soap, but it’s not harsh on the skin like you’d expect from lye. Let me know if you want the recipe/ instructions on how to make!
