Hello hello! In celebration of Ranger’s 2nd birthday yesterday, I figured it’d only be suiting to write today’s blog post about her! The past 2 years with Ranger have been such an adventure. From her daily shenanigans around the house to our road trips down to Grandma’s house to our nightly walks around the neighborhood, I’ve truly loved every minute of it! If you want a maltipoo puppy, here are 16 reasons to add one to the family!
Warning: this post contains extreme cuteness!
// Her personality. I think most if not all maltipoos have such a strong personality, which I love! If you’re looking for a spunky side-kick then maltipoos are the pups for you. Ranger’s personality is compassionate, but independent, smart, but silly, basically we’re the same person! Ha!
// She is very attached to me. Tying into her personality, I love that maltipoos are so co-dependent. They need human interaction and attention and to be around people. That’s exactly what I was looking for in a dog, someone to always want to hang out with me and keep me company! Whenever I go somewhere, Ranger follows, and I think that’s just the sweetest thing.
// She doesn’t shed! You probably already knew this about maltipoos, but they don’t shed. They’re actually hypoallergenic, which means that they shouldn’t bother anyone with mild allergies. It’s SO nice to not have to ever worry about dog hair around the house. If you do have to worry about dog hair, then I suggest THIS vacuum, which I own and it’s awesome to clean up all life’s messes.
// She’s smart. I think generally speaking maltipoos are a pretty intelligent breed relative to other “designer puppies.” I know Ranger always impresses me with how she’s able to communicate with me. If she needs more water in her bowl, she’ll scratch at the cabinet underneath the sink (where she knows the water comes from). She also knows when I put my socks and sneakers on, that means we’re going for a nice long walk!
// She loves to snuggle. This is probably 50% her own behavior and 50% learned behavior, but she LOVES to snuggle with me. If you want a super snuggly and cuddly pup then I’d suggest starting to do so early on with them that way they grow to love it too!
// She doesn’t waste time when going to the bathroom. Okay, this is a bit of a strange one, BUT hang with me. I really appreciate how when I take Ranger outside she does her business right away. There’s never any mulling it over or trying to find the perfect spot, she just goes! This is especially appreciated when it’s raining out. I’m not sure I ever really trained her to be this way, she just always was like this.
// She loves car rides. Again, I think this might be partially a learned behavior, but she really loves getting in the car and going for a drive. It’s so cute to see how excited she gets when she realizes she gets to come with me in the car!
// She’s very active. It’s pretty darn cool that Ranger comes on jogs with me. We usually don’t do more than 2 miles together, but even still, it’s so fun to have a running buddy! (And it’s a great way to get some of her energy out!)
// She loves to play with toys. Ranger has more toys than I can count, but honestly, she loves to play with all of them! I leave her toys in a basket on the floor so she can go grab one (or all of them) whenever she wants and it’s a great way for her to decide what to play with. I’m always impressed that she changes up her preference quite often!
// She’s so tiny!! I expected Ranger to be about 10lbs full-grown. She’s actually only 5lbs and it’s awesome. She is so dang tiny, but I love how easy she is to take place with me. It’s really easy to take her on a plane, on a car ride, basically anywhere!
// She loves to be held. If Ranger had it her way, I think a perfect day in her mind would be spent in my arms. She loves when I hold her (like a baby) and carry her around the house with me. It’s hilarious!
// She loves having company over! I know most dogs get excited when people come over to the house, but Ranger goes absolutely crazy! (Not in a bad way that’s annoying, instead, it’s really cute to see how much she loves meeting new people!)
// She naps like a champ. Working from home is great in the sense that you never have to leave your dog alone, but it also can be tough sometimes. While every once in a while Ranger will decide to bark at squirrels while I’m on a conference call, I’d say 99% of the time I’m working, she’s just napping next to me.
// She doesn’t have accidents in the house. Ranger was fully house-trained by 6 months old. She is great at telling me when she has to go outside by standing by or scratching at the front door.
// Everything she does is cute! Ranger actually does a lot of yoga throughout the day. Ha! She loves stretching and does a lot of downward dog and chaturanga.
// She can entertain herself. It’s really cute to sometimes hear her little barks or growls while I’m working. When I look up from my computer I’ll see that she’s playing with a few of her toys and tossing them across the room for herself to then go fetch. Seriously!

It is literally my dog I have a maltipoo and it is exactly the same as your dog. How strange that they are so equal, right? haha
No way! That’s so funny!!
