Happy Monday! I had such a nice weekend hanging out with my parents and relaxing. We even went to the beach one morning before it got too crowded! As I’ve previously talked about on here, a few years ago I said goodbye to laying out in the sun to get naturally tan. (As a redhead I can actually tan really well!) As much as I loved laying out in the sun, I knew it was SO bad for me and needed to find a safer way to achieve a natural glow. Over the past few years I’ve been testing out sunless tanners and finally found one that checks off all the boxes! Keep reading about the sunless tanning lotion I can’t stop raving about!
Whether you’re extremely pale (like I am) or if you’re looking to enhance your natural summer glow, this tanning lotion is for you. Lemme say that one more time for the people in the back, this tanning lotion works for everyone! This sunless tanning lotion checks off all the boxes and right now it’s on sale for $36!! Shop it here!
Sunless tanners are infamous for being super fragrant and not having the most pleasant scents. Even some of the best sunless tanners out there still haven’t been able to figure this key aspect out. My new sunless tanner lotion has a very soft fragrance that is really appealing. It’s barely noticeable at all, which is the best part about it!
As much as I loved going to get my express spray tans, this sunless tanning lotion is something I put on right out of the shower and once I let it dry, I can go about my day! It will develop gradually over 2-3 hours and it lasts for a good 4-5 days. I’ve been applying the lotion every 4 days or so right now. This allows me to achieve a consistent natural-looking tan. If you want to really build your tan then I’d suggest applying ever 1-2 days.
I was using a tanning mousse prior to this that was very tricky to apply. It required the use of a mitt to apply, unlike this tanning lotion that I put on with my hands. Across the board this tanning lotion is just better. Of course the highlight to me though is that I can apply to my hands without any streaks or darkening around my knuckles and between my fingers. All I do is take 1/2 pump from the bottle and then I mix that way regular non-tanning lotion and rub it completely into my hands and slightly up my arms, that way it blends!
In addition to all of the amazing characteristics discussed above, this sunless tanner doesn’t come rub excessively or at all! Of course when I put this on before bed, my white sheets will inevitably have a few tan-colored spots in the morning from the sunless tanner. It’s minimal though and you can wash it out. As for rubbing off on clothes, I personally haven’t had any issues as long as you let it dry completely before dressing and you don’t sweat excessively.
Here are my “best practices” … apply lotion in the evening after taking a shower. (If you are trying to build your tan, don’t exfoliate in shower, if you’re starting fresh, then make sure you exfoliate really well!) Then you’ll want to let the tan dry completely before putting your pajamas on. I always opt for an oversized cotton t-shirt and shorts or long pants with a loose waistband. *If you want to preserve your sheets then make sure you wear long sleeve and long pants.
Each time you get out of the shower, make sure you pat yourself dry with a super soft towel rather than a wiping motion. This does 2 things, A) avoids getting tanner on your towel and B) prevents any unnecessary exfoliation. These super plush towels come in a dark grey and are AMAZING!
Alrighty friends, that’s the scoop on the perfect sunless tanning lotion! You’re going to love it & right now it’s on sale for $36! Shop it HERE! Show off your amazing tan in these affordable summer swimsuits that I love!
