Here’s a quick read today (my mom’s favorite! Sometimes she rolls her eyes when she sees my longer posts because those take more time to read…the struggle is real). Anyway, there is definitely an IT bag this season and I wanted to share three options at three different budgets so everyone can hop on this trend. You’re welcome! You can click through the bags below, and then I’ve highlighted three favorites in more detail.
[Disclaimer: I realize some of these links are going to lead you to sites and they’re going to be sold out. I realize how frustrating that is, but I also wanted to make you aware of these bags for if/when they are restocked. I’ve done my best to find where the bags are in stock, but I fell short for a few of them. I mean, these bags are selling out so fast it’s crazy! My best advice is to bookmark the bag you love and keep checking back to see if it comes back in stock (that is, if it was originally out of stock). I’ll also try to keep tabs on my end and update you with any major restocks that I find out about.]
I snagged this Forever 21 Round Straw Bag up a few weeks ago when it first came on my radar. I mean $18?! I knew it was going to go out of stock fast. And it did…sigh. I wanted to link it here anyway (although it’s currently out of stock), but I’ll try to keep checking and notify you all when it becomes available again. It’s surprisingly sturdy for $18, and from far away it looks like a really cute bag, but up close you can kind of tell how cheap it is. I mean, it’s in no way a straw bag, but that isn’t going to stop anyone from strutting around with this bag. I just love how fun the circular shape is!
Another option, still super affordable in my opinion, is this sub $60 rattan bag from Urban Outfitters. I love the darker color of this bag and it definitely is a higher quality than the Forever 21 option. I mean, rather than being synthetic/plastic-y, this UO bag actually looks like it is made from straw (or something very similar). When I first spotted this bag on the internet I actually thought it was a designer bag and figured it must be in the $200+ range. I’m so glad I was wrong! Another great thing about this bag…you can get it by mid-May. Most of these it bags have already sold out, so jump on this one while you still can! Pssstt, the inside of the bag is lined with a really cute fabric, click the picture below (or link above) to check out more pictures!
If you’re willing to spend over $200 on a designer straw bag then you’re going to want to jump on one of these Clare V. Alice Straw Bags. They come in two sizes, a petite and a regular, and lots of colors. Right now it seems like black is the only color in stock (I did a lot of searching all over the internet and that’s all I could find). Sorry I tried. Buttttt if you’re patient and willing to wait for the restock, then I would suggest this blush colored bag. It’s so fun and I love the twist on the classic straw bag. Plus, blush is so in this season so why wouldn’t you want a blush straw bag? If you’re not buying my infatuation with this blush color then don’t worry, they have it in a natural straw color as well (my second choice), and a yellow straw color (still tbd on how I feel about that one).
What are your thoughts on the it (straw) bag this spring? Are you on board or are you still hanging on to your Cult Gaia? (Hey, I love my Cult Gaia so much I wish I could use it every season, so I’m definitely not trading it out for good in place of these new bags. Instead I’ll just have to add more to my calendar so I can have plenty of opportunities to use both!)
