Happy Monday! I had such a great weekend, I hope you all did too! Saturday was pretty low-key for me with a lot of time outdoors! If you know me, you know I LOVE being outside, so yeah Saturday was kind of perfect! Then on Sunday I spent the whole morning cleaning my new apartment (yay!) followed by a Pure Barre class and lunch date with my blogger friend Lauren! Check her out here! Lauren and I have so many things in common- like starting work right out of college, living in CT, event planning, and we’re both dairy free!
I’m LOVING this outfit featuring this Zara, eyelet tunic. It’s a bit out of my comfort zone, but I have to say, it’s so fun and summery! My friend Paige gave me a coffee mug for Christmas a few years ago that said “Life Begins Outside Your Comfort Zone” and honestly, that’s so true! While I recognize it’s important to have a signature style, especially as a style blogger, I also feel like blogging is a huge reason for me to push myself out of my typical outfits! I want to share new, unique, unexpected ways to style pieces and today I feel like I did that perfectly!
Few things scream summer more than white, eyelet pieces. I’m a huge fan of Zara, although I don’t shop there that often! I typically walk in there with the mindset that I’m going to be greeted with H&M/Forever 21 prices…well…not so much! While Zara might be the most affordable store on Greenwich Avenue, its clothing is definitely not cheap! This eyelet tunic that I’m wearing is around $70. With that being said, it’s so versatile! I wear it as a pseudo-dress here, but I can’t wait to wear it as a beach/pool cover up and to style it with white jeans too!
What I love about this outfit is how it looks like I’m wearing a dress, but I know I can be comfy and confident in my classic Levi, high-waisted shorts! Although the eyelet is a bit see-through in nature, I opted out of wearing something under this tunic and I feel like it was the right move. This is such a great look for beating the summer heat without looking like a slob! Instead of throwing on a tank top and athletic shorts the next time it’s over 90 degrees out, I think I’ll just throw this on instead!
How do you wear tunics, or do you steer clear of them completely? Until recently I would never have dared to style a tunic because ugh is it a shirt? Is it a dress? I dunno! Too complicated! I’m much more willing to step out of my comfort zone now, so helloooo tunic time! Outfit details below!
tunic: Zara • shorts: Levi • pumps: Prada (old) • bag: Cult Gaia • hair ties: Tele Ties
