Wow, this weekend flew by! I didn’t even do anything this weekend, the majority of Saturday and Sunday were spent just lounging around the house. Aside from that I ran some errands, did some shopping (okay, lots of shopping), and ran my first 5k in 4 years! I was so surprised with how well I did in the Jingle Jog, I mean, 25.05 is pretty good for someone who hasn’t really been training for a 5k. Sure I run every day to/from Grand Central, but that’s only 1.5miles one way. I have to credit my performance to my new found love/obsession with Pure Barre! I’ve been going to Pure Barre classes almost every day of the week. I typically go after work at 6:50pm, but if I can’t make that class then I do the 7:50pm option. Pure Barre is such a good work out and after a month of going 4-5 times/week I can say that I’m really noticing a huge difference! I’ll be sharing a blog post on Pure Barre in the future, so keep an eye out for that if you’re interested in learning more!
This feather vest from Club Monaco was my best Black Friday find. I purchased it for under $90 (originally $200). I feel like this is a piece I’m going to be wearing all the time because it’s so cute! It’s also a super easy accessory to just throw on and elevate your outfit’s style in just seconds. To be honest this feather vest does shed, a lot. I was assured by the sales associates in Club Monaco that it isn’t something to worry about though and that they keep bringing it back season after season because it’s such a fan favorite. So hopefully mine won’t be the exception here!
My favorite part of this outfit is the juxtaposition between the feather vest and plaid blanket scarf. They work so well together! Blanket scarves have that chunky, heavy-duty feel to them which completely opposes the feminine, delicate feel of the vest. I also loved playing with red in this outfit! Instead of shying away from adding more color to this outfit with the pop of red pants, I tied in the red in the blanket scarf and I think it works well, especially since the red isn’t competing with anything (my shirt, vest, boots, and bag are all black).
What are your thoughts on this outfit? Would you style your feather/fur vest with a blanket scarf? I’d love to hear how you style your feather/fur vest! Outfit details below…

Love the blog, not sure I’m going to go out and buy a blanket scarf
Just saying
Ha, of course you’re not! Who needs a blanket scarf when you have fish-mo?
