Guys, it’s Wednesdayyyy! I don’t know why people detest “hump day,” to me it just marks another day closer Friday and isn’t everyone pro-Friday?
I talk to my grandmother on the phone twice every day, once as I’m walking to work in the morning and one when I’m walking back to the train at the end of the day. It’s so nice that we always have this time together, and having a little phone conversation makes my commute go by faster, which is a huge plus! Each conversation starts out the same though, I always say something along the lines of “Hi grandma, it’s me againnnn!” and then I proceed to remind my grandma what day of the week it is, hey, I can’t blame her for losing track, she’s retired! If I didn’t have to worry about the days of the week I sure wouldn’t….so yes, for the first 5 minutes of our talk each morning we go back and forth about how it’s uggg Monday, or it’s only Tuesday, or it’s finally Wednesday at least…you get it! Our talk at the end of my work day mirrors this as my grandma always comforts me in saying “we’ll you made it through another day at least!” She’s a sweetie.
So this sweater dress! I bought this turtleneck, cashmere sweater dress a few months ago from my all-time favorite upscale resale store in Greenwich: Consign Design. This dress is so soft and so easy to just throw on in the morning for lounging around the house (okay, let’s be honest, I don’t live that kind of life), or more realistically to throw on in the morning and head to work. I wear a slip under mine, not that it’s see-through, but because it seems more comfortable that way.
One of my favorite neutral color combinations is beige and grey, making this ensemble high on my list of go-to outfits! The blanket scarf adds a little something extra to this gorgeous, yet simple dress, while also keeping me nice and warm. I paired this outfit with my hands-down favorite/best buy of this year: these black, faux suede wedges! Outfit details below, and spoiler alert, my booties are on major sale!
dress: similar here, here, here • scarf: Zara, similar here • boots: Lexi and Abbie *currently on sale for $30!!!
the scoop: Cashmere is expensive, which is why I typically only buy it at second-hand shops. This dress probably retailed for over $400, but I only spent $100 on it. Yay for bargains! // My blanket scarf is 2 seasons ago from Zara, but if you’re looking for a similar blanket scarf, they are the the place to go! All my blanket scarves are from them! I linked a pretty one from Madewell above, as I’m a huge fan of Madewell, but if you have a Zara nearby then that’s where you should go for a big, chunky scarf. // And yeah, these shoes are hands down the best purchase I made this year. I paid full price and that still wasn’t bad! They were originally under $100, but now they are $30 and I’m kind of considering buying a second pair as a back-up since I wear these wedges so often….what do you think?
