This is probably one of the few times I’m *not* excited that it’s Friday, only because it means I have to fly home tomorrow! Sigh. Well, I’ve had an amazing week here in CO and can’t wait to be back in November! Last week I posted about the BlogHer Conference I attended in NYC. I of course couldn’t go into the city without doing a little bit of shopping, I mean, there are just so many stores and brands in the city that you wouldn’t find anywhere else! Greenwich Ave has a great selection of stores, but there’s something just so cool about walking around New York and discovering brands you’ve never heard of! So today I’m highlighting & Other Stories, which is the name of my new favorite brand! Kind of a cool name, right?
A little bit of backstory here… when I worked in NYC I walked by & Other Stories 5th and 42nd location almost daily. I always admired their clothing, but never found the time to stop in. That is, until I was in the city this past week when I saw they had a store in the Obelisk (down in the Financial District). I’m kicking myself in the butt now for not checking them out sooner! I would compare & Other Stories to be a more European version of H&M and Zara, but at a slightly higher price point. With that being said though, I got a top on super sale (originally $98, but I paid $20), so if you’re a bargain shopper definitely check out their sale rack!
As a blogger I feel like it’s a part of my job to share my discoveries with you and also to share pieces that not everyone else is wearing. I mean, this just brings me back to the Nordstrom Sale. I loveee a good sale (probably more than most people!), but I don’t love my Instagram feed looking like every other bloggers! And I doubt you like that too, I mean, I can’t imagine you would find that inspiring… am I completely off base here? Or do you agree?
I picked up two pieces from & Other Stories that I absolutely love. THEY’RE BOTH ON SALE! One is so different and the perfect blend of boho and preppy (you know I can never stray too far from my preppy roots), and the other piece is a classic summer staple (that you can easily wear into fall and spring). And that’s another thing I love about finding less well-known brands, you can add classic pieces to your wardrobe that are slightly different than what everyone else has! Yay!!
The Eyelet Trim Cropped Blouse in Purple is such a fun blouse! I’m wearing a size 2, which is the only size left in stock unfortunately, but my mom found a very similar top by Reformation, which I’ve linked here (on sale for $74)! (Side note- Reformation is another brand I love and need to spend more time shopping with! Definitely check them out!)
This stripe long-sleeve top (only $20!) is something I plan on wearing more like a sweater. It’s the perfect fit to layer under, and it’s lightweight enough that you’ll want to throw it in your beach bag for sun protection or incase you get chilly once the sun goes down.
Here are some other favorites of mine that I’ve linked below! Check them out and let me know what you think!
Best,
Helen
