It’s Monday! I’m so excited to share with you something that is very on trend: layering a t-shirt and a dress. So if that’s all you care to read about then skip a few paragraphs below, but before diving into this new trend I wanted to share how productive of a weekend I had! As I’m getting older (that sounds weird to say because I’m really not old at all…) I’m finding it more difficult to want to just chill out/veg out/relax/whatever you call it on the weekends. I know, crazy right?! Don’t get me wrong, most nights I spend doing absolutely nothing, just sitting on my couch watching TV and sipping wine (speaking of wine, did you check out my review on Wine Awesomeness?). But on the weekends, even if I want to relax and do nothing, I keep on finding myself compelled to do something, or rather, do lots of things to fill my days. If I’m not traveling on the weekends then I’m getting stuff done! Yeah!
This Saturday was a jam-packed day of Pure Barre class followed by a 3 mile run with my mom, followed by painting our fixer-upper house (yes I am channeling my inner Joanna Gaines, and loving it!), followed by a quick shopping spree for blog photos this week. On Sunday I woke up early to shoot blog photos with my mom (thank you, Mom!) and then proceeded to shoot more photos with two fellow bloggers, Emily and Alexa (click on their names to check out their blogs!). After lots and lots of photos I went to Pure Barre and then started on some blog work! How do you like to spend your weekends? Chilling and reenergizing for the week ahead, or going nonstop?
Nowww onto sharing my new favorite trend, laying t-shirts under dresses! I’ve seen this look a few places now and was so eager to style an outfit myself. Spoiler alert: I’m obsessed. I mean, come on people, finally a trend that makes sense! I like to describe myself as perpetually cold and an expert layer-er. Even in the summer you can find me bundled up under a blanket, I’m just always cold in a weird way. People sometimes complain at the office that it’s too warm while I have my heater blasting, jacket on, and I’m still not warm enough. Sooo all that is to say that any excuse I can use to layer under a dress I will gladly take! This excuse just so happens to look really cute! Plus think about the possibilities here, don’t have a cute jacket to go with your dress, but you know you’ll be chilly? Solution: long sleeve tee. Spending the day out in the sun, but don’t want to burn your shoulders? Solution: short-sleeve linen tee. Ah! So much potential here! Stay tuned for more laying from me in the coming weeks! Outfit details below—
pumps: Prada • dress: Joie • bag: Cult Gaia • shirt: Gap (similar) • sunglasses: Tory Burch
Things you should know:
I’m wearing an xs in this dress and it fits perfectly. The belt is removable so you can style it with or without the belt. I chose with because corset belts are also very on trend right now! And lastly, the dress’ straps are adjustable!
Oh you know, just me doing some high kicks to show off the amazing hem of this dress!

Great new post! I don’t think I would have tried this trend before…but maybe now I will!
Living in Florida I’m not sure you’ll need a long sleeve tee haha, but you should definitely try it with a short sleeve t-shirt! It looks really cute!
