Hello and happy FriYAY! Yesterday I took a poll on my Instagram stories to see what YOU wanted to see on the blog first: my DIY 1/2 bath renovation or my master bathroom reveal. And as you can tell, the majority vote went to sharing my master bath reveal! Honestly, I can’t believe that this is my bathroom. Guys, it’s like a spa!! Apart from having a soaking tub (maybe one day), this bathroom turned out even better than I could have ever dreamed. Keep reading to find out all the details about my luxurious white & gold master bath reveal!
Without a doubt the most difficult part of the entire home renovation process was choosing all the bathroom fixtures. Yes, really! (Huge shoutout to Virginia for helping me through the process, I really would have been lost without her!). The only thing I was certain of when it came to the bathroom fixtures was that I knew I wanted gold. Apart from that I had no idea what brand to go with, what my price point should even be, and what style to choose. Who would have known there were so many kinds of gold finishes out there!? I don’t usually get stressed, but this was stressful!
Luckily everything turned out perfectly. I have absolutely NO regrets with any of our fixtures. In fact, the longer we have them the more I love them. The gold looks so nice with the white tile and the faux marble countertop and flooring. This bathroom transformed from a dark, outdated dungeon to a luxurious spa-like escape!
I really ran with the whole white, gold, and marble theme in this bathroom. My towel rods, towel hooks, and toilet paper holder are also the same gold finish as the faucets. They have the cutest unique gold & marble flower design. These details along with the scalloped tile really infused the space with my personality.
If you’re not familiar with what this bathroom looked like BEFORE the renovation, then you have to click here! We had the weirdest shaped tub ever. Because of the lighting it’s a little hard to tell, but the tub was kind of like a triangular shape set inside a square base. Regardless of it’s weird shape, I knew I wanted the tub out and a huge shower in it’s place. Originally the shower was supposed to be 4x5ft, but we ended up bumping it out another foot to make space for a bench.
I didn’t want a bench at first, but we ended up having no choice because the wall needed some additional support, which the bench provided. Now I can’t imagine this shower without a bench, so yay! Everything works out in the end.
Another thing I knew I NEEDED to have in my dream bathroom was a rainforest shower head. I can’t imagine not showering with one now. It’s so luxurious! In addition to the rainforest shower head I also wanted a handheld option. Virginia helped me pick out this wand option and it’s really cool! I’d never seen or heard of one before, but apparently they’re pretty popular in Europe.
As for the tile, YES I went with the scalloped tile we have in the kitchen. Originally the plan was to just tile the shower with this scallop tile, but they sent us too much and we couldn’t return the extra so that’s how the kitchen backsplash ended up with it as well. If you read my post about my kitchen renovation then you already know I’m obsessed with this tile. It’s so pretty!
I went into the renovation with the goal of only using/buying from local businesses. And I did a pretty good job keep with that. About 90% of the project was done using only local businesses, and the majority of that 10% can be found here in the bathroom. The mirrors are from Bed Bath & Beyond, the drawer handles are from Home Depot, and the light fixtures (such a steal, under $100 each!) are from Amazon. Oh yeah, and my towel rods and such are from Anthropologie.
Sure I fell a little short, but I’m proud of how much of this project was able to be completed utilizing locally owned, small businesses. I could have done the entire project locally, but when it came down to it, some of the options I went with were more affordable and just easier.

Hello! The bathroom is beautiful! Could you share where you purchased the scalloped tiles?
Hi Jennifer! I purchased from Lima tile in Stamford, CT! 🙂
Hi. Beautiful bathroom. Can you tell me the name of the tile?
Hi! Thank you so much! Which tile are you referring to specifically? Thanks!
Best,
Helen
What tiles did you use for your shower?
Your shower floor.. sorry!
Hi Barbara, I used a quartz herringbone tile for the shower floor!
Hello! I was wondering the brand/type/size of tile you used for the bathroom floor. Thanks!
Hi Aly, I used 12×24 matte quartz tile in a faux marble look. I hope that helps! Best,
Helen
Love love love! Especially the muted tone of the faucets and fixtures. Where are the shower and sink faucets from and names of them if you know? Thanks!
Hi Jamie!
My shower and sink faucets are all Sigma in the Satin Brass finish. I don’t know what the style names are, but I can send you a screenshot of my invoice and hopefully that will help!
Best,
Helen
Yes please! That would be so helpful. 😊
Hi Jamie, I sent you an email. Hopefully you received it!
Best,
Helen
Love this bathroom …
where did you find your vanity? I’m having a hard time finding one I love?
Hi Bari,
Thanks for reaching out! I actually had my vanity made by the same people who made my kitchen cabinets. I’d highly suggest going to a cabinet maker (you don’t have to do custom, you can do pre-made), but that way your’e able to decide whether you want drawers or cabinets, the width, and the countertop!
Best,
Helen
Hi Jennifer!
What color is your wall paint
Hi, my wall color in my master bathroom is Pale Oak by Benjamin Moore.
Best,
Helen
stunning ! I must know where you got the shower head / hand held spray thing ?! currently renovating and have been searching for this exact set up and colors !!!
Hi Caity! My fixtures are from Sigma! I love them!
Hi! Did you do individual scollop tiles or are they sheets? What size are the tiles- we are doing our master shower with a similar style and I love how your turned out!
Hi Jessica! They are sheets of scallop tiles, I believe 12×12. Riad has some gorgeous ceramic scallop tile options. I got mine from Lima Tile in Stamford, CT. They were custom order and I think mine are porcelain. I hope that helps! 🙂
Hello, where did you get the floor tile from?
Hi! I got my tile from Lima Tile in Stamford, CT!
Hi! Gorgeous bathroom! What color grout did you use?
Hi Jen, thank you so much! I have light grey grout. I’m not sure the exact color or the brand, I’m sorry!
Is the floor marble? Do you know the name? So beautiful. I love the design choices.
Thank you so much April! My floor is faux marble (quartz calacatta). The tiles are 12×24. Happy New Year!
Hello! Your bathroom is gorgeous. Thank you for sharing! Where is the shower door purchased from? Thank you!
Thank you so much Cassandra! I really appreciate your kind words! Unfortunately my shower door was handled entirely by my contractor. I have no idea where it came from. What I do know is that it is frameless, which gives it a really chic look! Sorry I can’t be of more help.
I love the fixtures but couldn’t find satin bronze on sigmas website. Do you have any more info on the fixtures you used? Thank you so much! It’s gorgeous!
Hi Gwen! Thank you so much! I’ll email you now more details about my fixtures!
Best,
Helen

I love the white and gold. I’m about to do the same with a guest bath. Love the unique fixtures, as well. Never heard it called a rainforest shower head, but i love the visual!
Thank you Shannon for your kind words on my site and for stopping by Life on Phillips Lane!! I’d love to see how your bathroom turns out once you’re done 🙂
As for the “rainforest shower head,” I might be the only one who calls it that… funny story! My first experience with a “rain shower head” was on a vacation to Costa Rica, where I was staying in this cute villa in the middle of the rainforest and I guess it kinda stuck, ha!
Hi! What grout colors did you use for floor, scalloped walls and shower floor? Thanks!
Hi! Everything was a light grey grout!
What color grout did you use with your floor tile?
I believe it is a light grey!
Hi, would you mind sending me more info on the Sigma faucet, showerheads, etc?
Hi Danielle! I bought all of my sigma faucets and fixtures from Torrco. Feel free to reach out to them here for more info! https://www.torrco.com/ They’re the BEST!
What color did you paint the walls? The bathroom is beautiful!
Thank you Katy!! Everything is Chantilly Lace by Benjamin Moore! My favorite white by far! I actually painted my new house a different white and I wish I did it all Chantilly Lace instead! Oops!
