Coming at you live today with a really exciting post! This past Sunday I was treated to a blowout at Pink Soda Blow Dry and Salon in Greenwich, CT. This is their newest salon location and it’s right at the top of Greenwich Ave. For locals, it’s directly above Chipotle (ha, whether we want to admit it or not, we alll know where that is!) Am I right? So anyway, it’s super easy to get to! (They also have locations in Stamford and Ridgefield if you’re a bit further north of Greenwich). Today I’m sharing my experience with Pink Soda and the insider scoop below, so keep reading to find out why I LOVE Pink Soda!
Since I live in walking distance to Greenwich Ave this salon is a no brainer for me. From my first email interaction I had with Wendy, the owner, I knew Pink Soda was going to provide a great experience. Wendy describes Pink Soda as a hybrid salon that excels at both blowouts and haircuts/treatments, in addition to other services (they do the best spray tans!). Pink Soda is a salon that ultra caters to their clients by going above and beyond, whether that’s with their top of the line Kevin Murphy products (if you haven’t heard of Kevin Murphy, I don’t blame you, this is cutting edge stuff here!!), or if it’s their complimentary drinks (they even serve champagne on the weekends!), or free organic paraffin wax hand treatments during a shampoo on the weekends as well. Basically, Pink Soda has figured out whatever formula it is that makes a blow-dry bar and salon uber successful.
I arrived to the salon this past Sunday, late morning, to get a one of a kind experience at Pink Soda. I had the salon all to myself! AH! They really spoiled me…Rachel was my expert blowout artist and she did an amazing job! What really set Rachel apart in my eyes was how easy it was to get along with her. Have you ever gone for a haircut or blowout and just sat there awkwardly for 45min+ trying to force conversation? Or worse, sitting in silence? Well, maybe you like sitting in silence, but I sure don’t! That’s why I loved how easy it was to talk to Rachel and how she seemed to actually enjoy talking to me! We talked about every brand of leggings under the sun, about our weekend plans, and Rachel even gave me suggestions on the best places to go out to eat/drink in Stamford over the summer. Thank you Rachel!!
After getting my hair washed with Kevin Murphy products (the Veuve Cliquot of hair care), Rachel proceeded to blowout my hair. it wasn’t painful at all, which is actually what I thought was the norm for getting my hair blown out. Truth be told, I have difficult hair. It’s actually pretty thin, but it knots like you wouldn’t believe! Speaking of believe… I still can’t believe how not painful this blowout was with Rachel. Rachel used a variety of techniques for my blowout including: setting a few brushes in my hair, pinning parts of my hair up, and using a curling wand. Ultimately these methods all worked together to create an awesome final product, which you can see for yourself! What I didn’t get pictures of what my hair the next morning after sleeping on it! Although almost all of the curl was out, I still looked ready to hit the town, or office, or whatever!! My point being, it still looked very presentable!
Let’s talk extra—Aside from blowouts and salon services, Pink Soda throws the cutest birthday parties. When I heard this I have to admit, I kind of wish I had thought to have my birthday party at a salon as a kid. That would have been so cool! Even if you don’t have your little lady’s party at the salon, each girl who comes in for a haircut or blowout still gets to leave with a little something special. How sweet!
Speaking of sweet- Pink Soda has the PROMotion of all PROMotions that is about to start: $170 will get you hair, makeup, and a spray tan. I distinctly remember being quoted prices of around $110 for makeup alone, which tells you how crazy good of a deal this is. But wait, there’s more! If you want, you can come in for a pre-prom blowout 3 days prior to your prom for only $30 (if you purchased their prom promo deal). This is kinda making me want to go back to prom….kidding! That is so far in the past!
So would I recommend Pink Soda Blow-Dry Bar and Salon? Yeah! There are so many salons and blow-dry bars out there now that it can seem like a saturated market. Pink Soda really does everything above and beyond though and that’s what makes it stand out in my mind. Their Greenwich Ave location is sleek, clean (super important in my opinion!), and professional. You know from the moment you walk in that you’re going to have a relaxing next 45 min or so enjoying your time with Pink Soda! Hopefully you don’t just take my word for it though, give them a try!
I received the signature blowout ($47), which includes the works I described earlier (a brush set during the blowout, with any hot tools, rollers, pin up, you name it!). If you’re in a time crunch then opt for the standard blowout ($40), which is a quickie. Any more questions? Ask away in the comments section below, or head to Pink Soda’s website to check them out! They also have an Instagram so give them a follow to see what they’re up to!
