Oh hey there friend! I hope you had a great weekend! Mine was SUPER busy & eventful… more on that soon! Is it just me or do these fancy hot cocoa bars seem to be taking the internet by storm? I especially love the one my friend Kera did for her family of 6. Of course I was inspired to make my own, except with one tweak, it would be just for 1! Sorry Ranger… Keep reading for more details on my hot cocoa bar for 1 featuring this gorgeous holiday dress from Draper James!
While my hot cocoa bar might not be as elaborate, it certainly has all the essentials. If you’re looking to recreate your own hot cocoa bar for 1 at home, I’d suggest starting off with a medium size grazing board/cutting board or platter. I used my gorgeous WREN Home grazing board. Use HELEN20 for 20% off your order!
Using a grazing board/platter allows you to group everything together nicely. And, bonus points because now you’ve got a mobile hot cocoa bar! Take it with you up to your bedroom, to your living room, by the Christmas tree, the opportunities are endless!
Since I’m all about saving time and being efficient, I opted for store-bought hot cocoa miss (read as: Swiss Miss). To keep things looking nice, I emptied the Swiss Miss packets into a cute little ramekin. You’ll also want to grab a small spoon to scoop your cocoa mix into your mug.
Speaking of mugs, this is my absolute favorite mug! It was a Christmas present last year and I use it almost every day. Shop this monogrammed mosaic mug here!
In addition to the cocoa mix I added some large chocolate chunks, mini marshmallows, and whipped cream to my hot cocoa bar. I love stirring in some chocolate chunks in my mug to make my drink extra chocolate-y! And of course, who doesn’t love marshmallows and whipped cream?!
Feel free to add any other toppings you’d like to your hot cocoa bar to make it your own! Keep scrolling for the final details…

Some final touches… I’d be remiss to not give my Smeg Kettle a shoutout. I know I’ve mentioned it several times before, and for good reason, it’s THAT good! Side note: it also makes for an amazing gift this holiday season! Think abut that person that has everything and is difficult to buy for… this would be the perfect gift for them!
And lastly, pull out your fancy cocktail napkins, do your hair, put some makeup on, and get dressed up! Okay, or you can just get cozy in some cute Christmas PJs by the fireplace. Personally though, I am finding every reason to get dressed up these days! It puts me in a great mood for the entire day and I love how it makes this holiday season feel special.

Making hot chocolate from scratch is on my holiday bucket list, but maybe I need to elevate it and make a hot chocolate bar!! And, I am also finding any excuse to dress up these days, like I got ready to go to the grocery store and Target, haah! So cute, girl 🙂
