I’m back! Sorry for my unannounced break from blogging. I prefer to write my blog posts in real time (rather than take a weekend to write a ton of blog posts, just to hoard them for weeks or even months in case I need a backup). So in that case I didn’t have anything in my back pocket when this week became busier than expected! I think it was good for me to take a few days off though, but now I’m back and really excited to share this outfit inspiration for anyone who is always, no matter what, cold. Raise your hand if you’re like me and just perpetually freezing. It could be really nice out, and yet I’m sitting at my desk shivering. It’s the middle of summer? Well come sunset I’m bundled up in a sweatshirt. Yep. That’s life.
Over the years I’ve given up fighting it. I realize I’m going to be cold unless I dress appropriately, so now I just dress appropriately. With it being the holiday season though, that isn’t so easy! Holiday parties expect you to be dressy and cute and spirited, but it’s cold outside! I don’t want to be wearing a sleeveless dress (are goose-bumps ever going to be trendy?).
Instead of the traditional black or red dress for your next holiday function, try pairing a cute/festive skirt with a chunky sweater! Velvet is very popular around the holidays, and most people opt for a velvet dress, but I incorporated velvet through my boots (since obviously I’m not wearing a dress!). Let me know what you think and if you have any outfit tips to staying warm at these holiday parties. Outfit details below…
