Happy Monday! I hope you stayed dry this weekend! I am so lucky that I was able to bump my flight earlier on Sunday and avoid cancelations because of the storm. My parents and I were down in North Carolina yesterday for Wake Forest’s family weekend (my sister is in her junior year at Wake). It was such a treat for the four of us to be back together. We always know how to have a great time and for that I am so thankful! Our action-packed Saturday involved a feast of a southern breakfast, followed by a football game that Wake actually won (a real life miracle), then we took part in a WF tradition of rolling the quad, yes with toilet paper. For dinner we ate at, and absolutely loved, The Forth Street Filling Station. Definitely recommend if you’re in the Winston-Salem area! I still can’t believe we were able to sit outside and enjoy our amazing meal. I mean, it’s almost November and we’re sitting outside? Crazy! We then ended up back on campus and had an impromptu family game night, filled with air hockey, foosball, and Jenga!
I’ve been having a lot of fun style fall outfits for this warm weather we’ve been having. This sweater from Goodnight Macaroon is light-weight enough for those 60 degree days, which kind of seem to be every day…and I’m okay with that! It’s no secret that Burgundy is the “it” color this fall. I like the idea of pairing unexpected colors together, like with this outfit I threw these Burgundy Pilcro pants on with my light-pink sweater. And I think it worked! Do you? Perhaps one of the reasons it worked in my opinion is because you only get a flash of Burgundy since I’m wearing grey OTK boots. I’ve been on the hunt for a pair of OTK boots that would actually cling to my thighs and not be lose, and these are the pair! They come in grey, black, and camel and are really affordable. All outfit details below, let me know what you think!
sweater: Goodnight Macaroon • pants: Pilcro (similar here) • boots: Goodnight Macaroon • bag: Coach (super old!) • earrings: Kate Spade
the scoop: If you’re looking for affordable, on trend clothing then make sure to check out Goodnight Macaroon! They take a few weeks to ship, but the quality is pretty good for being inexpensive! They typically always have some sort of 30% off promotion going on, and the items on sale are constantly on rotation so if you see a sweater or something you really want, but it isn’t on sale then maybe wait a week or two because it will probably go on sale within that time. // I’m wearing a size 37 (6.5) in the boots. I typically wear 6.5 or 7 in boots // This sweater is 1 size fit all and I would say it is a size small though (maybe S/M at best), but definitely isn’t a true “one size fits all” sweater // sorry I couldn’t find something similar to this purse, but this was my FIRST ever purse. I got it for my sixteenth birthday, so 6 years ago. It is still in perfect condition and definitely a timeless piece!
