Eeeek! Guys, I’m the world’s worst secret keeper, so while I’ve subtly spilled the beans about this collaboration a few times already, I’m pretty proud of myself for not letting the cat too far out of the bag on this one! Okay- wait, what am I talking about? Today I’m sharing a Fourth of July Favorites GIVEAWAY featuring Wine Glass Writer and GOVERRE. It’s no secret that I love wine (and summery cocktails). I might be wrong on this one, but I’m guessing 99% of Fourth of July festivities revolve around some sort of drinking and lemme tell you something, Wine Glass Writer and GOVERRE make the experience so. much. better! [I share an in-depth review of both products below.]
Before I forget though–big shout out to my parents who played a huge role in this blog shoot. I always love hanging out with my parents. If you’re a regular around here, then you already knew that! But seriously, having a picnic at the beach with my parents is at the top of my “fun things I want to be doing” list! I’m so lucky to have such amazing parents who are willing to put up with me snapping pictures of food, products, and wine for an hour before actually eating or drinking anything! (Okay, truth be told my dad was enjoying his Dark and Stormy throughout the whole shoot and I think my mom snagged a few pieces of sushi, but still, they were such great sports about the whole thing!).
I’m not sure what your Fourth of July plans look like, but mine always involve lots of rosé, maybe a festive cocktail on the menu (something blue with strawberries!), lots of appetizers (like a good cheese plate and sushi! Ha, I know sushi might not be the most American food out there…at all… but I’m obsessed so it’s pretty much a staple at any party I throw), and most importantly, lots of fun! Hopefully you’re celebrating Independence Day with your friends and family, and if so, then you’re going to want to hear what I have to say about Wine Glass Writer and GOVERRE for your Fourth of July festivities!
Let’s start with Wine Glass Writer first, although I frequently use both products together (and remember to keep scrolling to read all about GOVERRE)! Wine Glass Writer is a mother-daughter team, which is one of the reasons I was so excited to partner with them, since my blog was inspired by inheriting my style from my mom! I tested these markers out on Memorial Day at a party and all the guests loved them! The whole idea behind Wine Glass Writer is that you’ll most likely forget what wine charm belongs to you (you know what I’m talking about, those things that dangle around the stem of your glass, yeah, those), but you’ll never forget your name. While I love wine glass charms, I’m always too preoccupied with mixing and mingling at parties to remember which charm is mine! Am I the flamingo or the monkey, or….yeah, you get the point! We’ve all been there! Obviously with Wine Glass Writer you’ll never lose track of your glass and they’re super easy to use!
Wine Glass Writer comes off of wine glasses (or champagne flutes!) very easily, just use a soapy sponge and some warm water! I recommend cleaning your wine glasses that same night; I’ve found if you leave it on overnight then it just takes a few extra scrubs to get off in the morning, but still, very easy! I personally always hand wash my wine glasses, but for all of you washing your wine glasses in the dishwasher, just give them a quick little wash to get the writing off before putting them in the dishwasher. Yep, it’s that simple!
Here are some WGW pro-tips:
- Write below where you sip from your glass. Since Wine Glass Writer was designed to come off wine glasses super easily that means it could also come off on your lips.
- Store Wine Glass Writers tip down so they don’t dry up. I store mine in a stemless wine glass, how suiting!
- Let the writing dry! It only takes about a minute for the ink to dry, so be patient to avoid smudging! If it does smudge, you can easily wet a napkin, wipe off your mess, and rewrite your name on another part of the glass.
- Don’t mix WGW and condensation. If you’re drinking something cold, write above the pour line so again, you don’t smudge. My dad made this mistake with his ice-cold Dark and Stormy (photo evidence below!).
- If you’re using WGW and GOVERRE together, avoid getting marker on the silicon sleeve.
- And lastly, be creative! WGW is a genius invention to avoid mixing up your wine glass with someone else’s, but there are so many other ways you can use these markers! I’ll help you brainstorm some other ways…
I’ve been testing out these WGW over the past three months and have been loving them. Nine times out of ten I’m using WGW on a wine glass, but here are some other ways you can use them: labeling a cheese board (if you’re using a ceramic/glass plate), labeling mason jars, decorating glass jars, decorating glass/mirror surfaces…the list goes on! My second go-to way to use WGW is to decorate a wine bottle, especially if I’m bringing it over to a party or small dinner with friends. Sure you can use a sharpie, BUT I always mess up whatever I’m tryin to write. If you use sharpie you’re kind of out of luck here, but with WGW you can erase your message as many times as it takes to get it perfect! People love the personal touch whether you customize their wine bottle with “Happy Birthday!” or “Congrats on your new place!” or whatever special occasion you’re celebrating.
Now onto GOVERRE! It is a dream come true to be working with GOVERRE, a brand I first learned about while watching Shark Tank, oh gosh, a year ago? Maybe more? I tried to order my GOVERRE glass right away, but they were sold out! I finally bought my first one on Black Friday (check that post out here), and now here we are, I’m doing a GOVERRE giveaway!!
What is GOVERRE? Great questions! GOVERRE is a portable wine glass, aka an adult sippy cup! Yes seriously, these actually exist! Just like Wine Glass Writer, GOVERRE was founded by two incredible women and is an all around amazing product. I love so many things about GOVERRE, but here are a few highlights:
- The durability (it’s glass, but acts more like a plastic, aka when I dropped mine it didn’t break!)
- The silicone sleeve (keeps my drink cooler longer and keeps my hand dry from condensation)
- The look! Um who doesn’t like drinking out of a pretty glass?
- The lid! While I don’t usually drink out of the plastic lid, it always comes in handy to pop the lid on so you don’t spill your drink if you’re moving around or packing a drink to take with you. And it’ll definitely keep the bugs out!
GOVERRE might be a portable wine glass, but it’s evolved into my go-to wine glass/cocktail glass at home. I love the feeling of the silicone sleeve and it gives you a better grip on the glass. So compared to all my other stemless wine glasses (that are now gathering dust in the back of my kitchen), I can be confident each time I grab for my GOVERRE that I’m not going to spill! Another huge reason why GOVERRE is now my go-to glass is because it keep my drink cooler, longer without having to sacrifice drinking out of a glass. GOVERRE might not have the look of a typical wine glass, and it might be a tad thicker than your regular wine glass, but it is still glass! Yippie for staying classy! (To put it in perspective, GOVERRE is thicker than your standard wine glass, but thinner than a mason jar).
During our festive picnic I just kept thinking, wow, how did we survive all last summer without GOVERRE (and Wine Glass Writer too!)? I mean really, before GOVERRE came into our lives my parents and I were using plastic wine glasses with stems and ugh! Sitting on the beach can be super relaxing, but then again, when you always have to worry about where to put your wine glass without spilling it, well, that gets old quickly. And if you use the lid then you never have to worry about another bug in your wine again! I think everyone can relate to that moment when you have to decide whether you toss the wine or fish the bug out and pretend like nothing happened! Or is that just me…?
Look! My dad even loves GOVERRE!! If that’s not proof that GOVERRE is awesome, then I don’t know what is! Pretty sure my dad filled his GOVERRE up to the rim (with…um, water? the world may never know!), which is why the condensation caused his name to smudge. So lesson learned- leave some room in your glass so can write above the pour line and avoid condensation and smudging!
