A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of experiencing the recently opened Lloyd Hotel in Downtown Stamford! First off, a huge thank you to the Lloyd Hotel for inviting me to check out their property! Spoiler alert- it’s really nice! Secondly, I am so glad I was able to have this fun & safe girls’ night experience. So much has changed in the short amount of time that has passed since this experience, and I hope everyone has a safe & healthy holiday season! Keep reading for a recap of my Girls’ Night at The Lloyd Hotel in Downtown Stamford!
The Lloyd Hotel is centrally located in downtown Stamford, making it a no-brainer in my book! It’s super convenient and the hotel offers free on-site parking in their parking garage (located underneath the hotel). I’ll circle back to the many other amenities later, but first, let’s talk about the hotel’s namesake!
The hotel inherits its name from a prominent local businessman in the 1700’s, John Lloyd. Mr. Lloyd owned a General Store across the street from the hotel in what is today the Mill River Park. With John Lloyd’s name comes the reputation for upholding the longstanding tradition of supporting the local community. What a cool story, right?!
With The Lloyd Hotel I feel like you get the best of both worlds: the local, boutique hotel experience and a connection to the Hilton brand. Yep, The Lloyd is part of the Hilton’s Tapestry Collection, which means you not only get the reliability of the brand name, but also the benefits of their rewards program.
Stepping inside the hotel, guests are instantly welcomed by the warmth of a beautifully decorated lobby. The lobby offers an intimate feel mixed with an on-trend vibe. There are numerous seating areas to allow you to stay socially distant from other guests.
Currently, the check-in desk takes the temperature of each guest. This was just one of the many aspects that made me feel a bit more at ease during our girls’ night! Some other precautions the hotel is taking right now include: sealing the rooms after being cleaned and sanitized, providing sanitizing wipes on your bedside tables, and keyless/contactless entry to your room using the Hilton app on your phone!
I was able to tour a few of the rooms and wow, they’re gorgeous! The 94 guest rooms in the hotel are all outfitted with modern West Elm furniture. Not only are the rooms well designed, they’re also so spacious! In the bathrooms, guests enjoy the luxurious, clean bath products by Malin + Goetz. I love this brand’s philosophy of always striving for simple and sustainable!
The Lloyd is dog friendly, which is immediately apparent, as they have a bowl of water and dog treats right in the lobby. How cute! If you’re traveling with your furry companion, they’ll even have your room ready with a dog bed!
After not seeing so many of my blogger friends for most of this year, it was so nice to get to reconnect with Nina, Laura, and Megan! After having our temperatures taken upon arrival, we went up to our room to get ready for a fun evening at The Lloyd! Right away, we change into the hotel’s ultra comfy robes and grabbed a bottle of bubbles to unwind. The Board Mama surprised us with these delicious mini charcuterie boxes, which made for the perfect snack!
Afterwards, we got all dressed up and headed down to the lobby for some wine and girl time around the fireplace! As I mentioned earlier, the lobby is so warm and inviting. Fun fact: the wood used for the ceiling in the lobby is actually wood used to grow mushrooms on. How cool is that?!
If you’re looking for a place to grab dinner, either take-out or dine-in, I highly recommend bartaco, which is less than a 5 minute walk from the hotel. They have the best street tacos around! Pro tip: order the corn off the cob, you’ll thank me later! Of course, if for some reason you aren’t feeling tacos, there are plenty of other restaurants in walking distance so you’ll be sure to find something up your alley.
Upon entry to my room, I was greeted by the most amazing goodie bag that The Lloyd Hotel put together for us! I’ve got to give a HUGE shoutout to all the local brands that contributed. But wait, there is more! I get to have my Oprah moment later this week where one of YOU can get a bag too! Stay tuned for an Instagram giveaway on the feed for a chance to win your own goodie bag!
The goodie bag itself is a gorgeous tote from Hat Attack! Inside, Hat Attack also included a scarf, hat, and gloves. Hat Attack is a local brand that I’ve been a fan of for years now. Their pieces are really well made! Another brand you guys know I’m obsessed with is ChappyWrap! Their blankets are simply the best. BNLD included a pair of their tie dye joggers, which are very comfy! Truth be told, I’ve been wearing them on repeat since I got mine!
There were also a few new-to-me brands and local businesses that were included in the goodie bags. I’m excited to learn more about them and support them this holiday season! Emerald + Peridot gifted us these beautiful bracelets, which are perfect for the holiday season! I’ve already worn mine a few times!
New Canaan Health Fare included several healthy, sustainably, eco-friendly, and natural products from their store. I can’t wait to go check them out in person! If you like to shop local and appreciate a well-curated selection of healthy, natural products, this is your place! Of course no girls’ night could be complete without some wine… Glenville Wines included a bottle of rosé!
Another brand I discovered in my goodie bag was Ula Bloom. They’re known for colorful, impactful stationery. For each product they sell, they gift a child in need with literacy education. How incredible is that?! Shop their holiday cards here.
The Lloyd generously included their famous bathrobes, which I can confirm, do indeed live up to all the hype! I’ve also got a new water bottle from the Lloyd, whose sleek design mirrors the hotel’s aesthetic perfectly!
And of course, thank you to Brooke DeMarzo for making this entire experience possible! Brooke owns her own boutique marketing company and did an exceptional job! Brooke truly brought this Girls’ Night at The Lloyd Hotel in Downtown Stamford to fruition!
