Happy Wednesday! You might want to be sitting down for this one- yes, the rumors are true, I do use drugstore foundation. Gasp!! I was such a foundation snob for the longest time. For years I wouldn’t spend less than $50 in order to ensure I was getting something good. A couple years in and a couple hundred dollars gone, my sister (oh hey, Katherine!) started telling me about all these Youtubers who reviewed drugstore beauty products that were just as good as products you’d buy in Sephora. I of course ignored her!
Fast forward a few months- my sister and I were on vacation together and I finallyyyy decided to test out this drugstore foundation she’d been raving about. I put it on one morning instead of my designer foundation, ran around exploring a new city all day, and at the end of the day when I looked in the mirror I couldn’t believe it! My skin looked just as amazing as it did when I applied my makeup at 8:00am that morning! Say whatttt!
Okay- here’s the thing: this foundation is hands down the best foundation for someone with oily skin (like me). For under $15.00 this foundation will change. your. life. If you don’t have oily skin, you still might want to try this stuff out. Here’s what I absolutely love about this foundation: as you rub it into your skin it goes from feeling like a liquid to a power. How amazing?!
Buy two shades (it’ll still be less than what you’re used to spending at Sephora). Mix the two shades together to get the perfect match for your skin tone. Currently I mix shades 101 and 102 together (1/3 parts 101 and 2/3 parts 102). As summer gets closer and if I start doing more spray tans I’ll obviously adjust this! I found the L’Oreal Infalliable Matte Foundation for the cheapest price HERE (under $10) you’ll want to order it online because I spend $14 ish every time I buy it in CVS.
*Pictured above- Most days I add Bare Minerals Powder Foundation on top of my L’Oreal Foundation just because it gives me a little extra coverage and helps with blending. By no means do I need the powder though, days when I go without the powder, my L’Oreal Foundation stays put just as well throughout the day!
