Happy Floral Friday! (Is that a thing? If not, then it should be!) I’m writing to you from my little slice of paradise, Ocracoke Island, NC. Growing up I migrated to Ocracoke each summer to spend with my Grandparents and those are some of my fondest memories. Going to Ocracoke was an annual trip, a certainty, something I would always look forward to. Then going to college and graduating and getting a job I haven’t had time to get back to Ocracoke and before you know it, it’s been 4 years since I’ve visited. AH! I am so happy to be here for two weeks just enjoying time with my Grandma (aka my bestie) and enjoying the island. But you know what’s weird? It feels like I’d never left. And I love it!
Since I’m here for such a long time and the weather is so nice you can bet I’m getting as much blog content as possible! That means my Grandma has stepped up to the plate to be my intern photographer and she’s doing a really good job! Thanks Grandma!
Okay back to our outfit today— I’ve never been a huge floral person, but I’m trying to slowly incorporate more florals into my wardrobe, especially now that we’re finalllyyyy making our way into spring! If you’re not from the Northeast, then you probably don’t know what I’m talking about…lucky…but if you are from around here then you know what I mean…Ugg!
Anyway! I’m loving this green, floral, boho dress from Urban Outfitters. It comes in other colors/patterns, but personally this pattern is my favorite (the other ones kind of look frumpy). This dress is easy to dress up or down, which is exactly what I did here! As much as I love a cute pair of wedges/heels I will find any and every excuse to wear sneakers. I loveeee my Supergas! They’re stylish enough to pair with (almost) everything and comfy enough to wear all day. Have I sold you on them yet? Great!
If you want to dress this look up for I dunno weekend brunch with the girls, or church (hmmm…I don’t go to church EVER, but for some reason I saw this dress and thought it was just perfect for it!), or a night out with friends (ahh more my pace) then just throw on a pair of espadrilles and class it up with some accessories! This gingham clutch is really cute, but I have to say the design does have some flaws. Mainly, the bag doesn’t have any way to close securely, the top of the envelope just kind of tucks into the bottom of the bag, but there’s no zipper, snap, or clasp.
