Hi everyone! Sorry for my delay in posting this morning! In all honesty I completely lost track of the days and totally thought today was Tuesday! Oops! Anyway, I’m really excited to share how I styled this gorgeous Joie dress in an unexpected way! First off lemme just say that YES I am one of those New England girls who came back from Nashville with a pair of Ariat cowboy boots and I’m so glad I did! These boots are amazing!
I’ve always loved how cowboy boots and sundresses look together, and while this Joie dress might be a bit more elevated than your typical sundress, it’s soulful blue color scheme pairs perfectly with these boots. Instead of styling this dress with a dainty cross body bag or clutch I grabbed for my favorite suede navy slouch tote. It’s actually my mom’s, but I love borrowing it because it’s so versatile!
There are so many things that I love about this Joie dress, but by far my favorite part is the asymmetrical hem, which by the way is trending this spring! Spoiler alert, but you’re going to be seeing more of this asymmetrical hem from me! I’m obsessed! Aside from the hem, the button detail in the front and the pockets make this dress rock star status! (In my opinion!) How would you style a dress like this? With sneakers, espadrilles, boots, or some other way? Comment below!
dress: Joie • boots: Ariat • bag: J. McLaughlin (similar here)
things to know: I’m wearing an XS in this dress, but could probably use an XXS, so I’d suggest you size down unless you’re looking for it to be roomy // cowboy boots are something you definitely have to try on in person, not something you can order online unless you’re going to order like 3 different sizes and send back the two that don’t work. I’m wearing a size 5 in cowboy boots, but I’m usually a size 6.5-7 so you reallyyy size down with cowboy boots!
