I knew I wanted Ranger to be the center of our holiday card this year, and honestly, this might easily become our tradition going forward. No one beats Ranger, right?! Do you remember a month ago when Ranger and I got to do a photoshoot with ChappyWrap and Julia D’Agostino? (Julia is such an incredible photographer and has such an amazing reputation, especially in the Fairfield County area!) Julia did an amazing job capturing Ranger’s personality during the ChappyWrap shoot, and I knew I wanted to use one of her shots as our Christmas card’s photo.
*I’m so happy I opted with rounded edges for our cards!*
I previously partnered with Basic Invite in doing my blog business cards (linking the blog post to that here) and it was such an amazing collaboration that I hoped I would be able to work with Basic Invite again during the holiday season. Dreams do come true!
My experience with Basic Invite has been nothing shy of enjoyable. Their products are high quality, and the turn around time is really impressive for custom orders! Needless to say, Ranger and I are loyal customers. Anyway, here are some specific things that make Basic Invite stand out, especially during this holiday season!
Foremost among the things I want to highlight about Basic Invite is the fact that they have almost unlimited colors! Not only that, but you can preview these countless color options online in real time while you’re creating your customized project. As a blogger, I want to create the perfect aesthetic, and this goes hand in hand with choosing the right colors. So thank you Basic Invite for making that possible!
Another thing that sets Basic Invite apart is that customers can order custom, printed samples to preview their work before putting in the full order. While I didn’t think this was necessary for me to do with my holiday cards, I can definitely see doing this when sending out an important invitation or save-the-date. Getting back to holiday cards though…we all know how busy the holiday season can be, and taking the time to hand address each envelope just isn’t realistic for many people. Basic Invite gets that, which is why they offer free recipient address printing on all Christmas card orders. Yay! This year I decided to have my return address printed on the envelopes [circling back to color choices, I got to select the color of my address font too!], but want to take the time to handwrite addresses on the front of the envelopes.
With over 500 Christmas card and holiday card designs, Basic Invite has a card for every family! I love how Basic Invite has pet specific designs, they’re adorable! When I saw this “Happy Howliday” design I knew it would be perfect for my simple, clean vision. The whole process took less than 20 minutes, all I had to do was change the word “Howlidays” to “Holidays” (personal preference), added Ranger’s picture, signed Ranger’s name, and make a few more small choices. I love how stress-free and user-friendly the process was!
*I purposefully left the back of my holiday cards blank so I could write hand-written notes to my friends and family*
One of the things that stood out to me about the holiday card design I chose was the gold border around the picture. With Basic Invite you have the choice of adding foil detailing to your cards. For instance, with my design, I could choose whether I wanted the gold frame and lettering to be foil or not. And Basic Invite doesn’t just offer gold foiling, you have silver and rose gold options too! And yes, of course I considered doing a whole rose gold themed holiday card with the rose gold foil, but also knew my mom wouldn’t let me live it down! I’m very happy with my traditional Christmas card design and who knows, maybe next year I’ll opt for something a little less traditional!

I can’t wait to start sending Christmas cards next year! I like something traditional but with a bit of a twist that makes it unique.
Completely agree Liz! I thought it’d be fun to just put Ranger on our card. Plus she’s the cutest one in the family!
Normally I do not read article on blogs, but I wish to say that this write-up very forced me to try and do so! Your writing style has been amazed me. Thanks, very nice post.
Thanks so much! I really appreciate it!
