I always look forward to family dinners, especially during the summer when we can get together, hang outside by the water, and have a picnic. By far my favorite creation I came up with this summer was the chocolate crêpe à la grill! Summer isn’t over yet so before the leaves start changing make sure you try this out!
Step 1: you’ll need some crêpes (I had some pre-made ones in the freezer). So you have two options here: you can either buy them from the store or make them yourself. Here is a crêpe recipe in case you’ve chosen the latter.
I believe that every dessert requires chocolate (actually my definition of dessert is synonymous with chocolate), so I naturally turned these into chocolate crêpes by using chocolate chips, but you could also use a chocolate hazelnut spread (or any other crêpe toppings)! My favorite chocolate hazelnut spread is Justin’s!
Once you’ve collected your ingredients and decided what flavor you want to create, from this point forward it couldn’t be more simple. Yay for easy, yet delicious treats!
If you grilled for dinner then by the time you’ve finished your meal your coals will be perfect to just toss the crêpes on top of the grill to warm them up and melt the chocolate. Just use a clean spatula to fold the crêpes in half, and serve! This should go without saying, but make sure you’re careful around the fire and don’t pick up the crêpes with your fingers!
Do you like to come up with tasty creations on the grill or are you the kind of person who makes s’mores in the microwave? Hey, no shame, I love a good microwave s’more too, and the microwave might actually work for pre-made crêpes as well!
With Love, Helen
