The first time I visited Cambridge I was shocked to find it was a hugely popular tourist destination. But honestly, I can understand why. Cambridge is amazing! It is charming, easily walkable, there’s so much to do, such great restaurants, and a must-stop if you’re already in Boston. Obviously Harvard is what attracts people to Cambridge, but I think the energy in this little city is what makes people stay. At least for me it’s the city’s energy that has me back up there every other weekend or so!
Cambridge is a great destination for those who enjoy quality food in a charming setting. I always turn my trips to Cambridge/Boston into eating tours, oops! Especially now with the colder weather all I want to do is bundle up with a warm bowl of soup. The only good thing about this winter weather is LA Burdick’s Hot Chocolate, which is the definition of perfection. No trip to Cambridge is complete without stopping by LA Burdick’s Chocolate shop. Their desserts are even better than they look, but what LA Burdick’s is really known for is its hot chocolate. I would suggest ordering a small ½ dark, ½ milk chocolate. Trust me, the small is super filling. (My order is a small dark chocolate with almond milk, but that’s because I’m dairy free so I have to avoid the milk chocolate). My order is still amazing, but I think the ½ and ½ is the ultimately show stopper considering most people prefer a lighter chocolate drink to dark chocolate.
Another plus to LA Burdick’s is it’s located right next to Anthropologie (aka one of my favorite stores!). This Anthro is 4 stories and the sales associates are always so helpful, which I find to be true at all locations, but I definitely love the layout of this store! So there you have it, the ultimate afternoon stroll, grab a new outfit at Anthro and then treat yourself to the world’s best hot chocolate.
Do you have a favorite brand of hot chocolate? If so, please share! I always love trying new things!
