Today I thought I’d re-share this J.Crew Chambray Jumpsuit in addition to a few other chambray pieces I’m loving. Before we get all chambray over here though, I thought I’d do a mini life update. If you want more of this kind of talk on my blog, please let me know! I know some bloggers do “life lately” posts and I also know that I keep it to mostly fashion or lifestyle content here on Style Inherited. I’m always looking for feedback so please let me know what you think works, what doesn’t, and what you’d like more or less of. Thanks!
I’m currently living in Greenwich, CT and LOVING it! I grew up about an hour north of Greenwich, CT in a really quiet town called Redding (and for the record, I love Redding too, but definitely grew out of it by the time I graduated college). The move to Greenwich wasn’t a choice I had made, but I was 100% behind my parents’ choice to make the move closer to their jobs (and coincidentally closer to NYC). As I’ve said many times before, I love love love living with my parents! Maybe you can’t understand where I’m coming from, but my parents are fun to hang out with, my dad is a Chef so whenever he is home I get gourmet meals (spoiled!), and I always have people around who share my appreciation for wine! When I put it like that, living with my parents sounds way more fun to me than living alone!
Aside from my parents being awesome, the location of their apt in Greenwich is pretty perfect too. I love being able to walk to the grocery store, walk to downtown (aka Greenwich Ave), and I’m able to walk to the train station in less than 10 min! It’s such a healthier lifestyle having the option to walk places rather than being forced to drive places. Of course I still do a ton of driving, and haven’t been walking as much as I’d like because of the freezing temps, but once the weather warms up I promise you’ll be able to spot me strolling (or power walking) around Greenwich all the time!
Do you live in/near Greenwich, CT? If so, would you like to see a blog post highlighting some of my favorite Greenwich spots? Please let me know!
Okayyy back to this chambray jumpsuit now! I’ve actually previously styled this jumpsuit with a pink Club Monaco sweater over it HERE and now I’m styling it another warm way with this grey turtleneck! If layering was a sport I would be a professional athlete! The only problem is… I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing… but suffering from constantly being cold I’ve definitely mastered the art of layering. It’s no secret that CT is still basically smack dab in the middle of winter, so I haven’t been able to wear this jumpsuit by itself. Instead I’ve been finding every which way I can style this chambray jumpsuit and not freeze my butt off!
Would you ever think to throw a turtleneck or tight, long-sleeved shirt under a dress or jumpsuit? For me it’s kind of a no-brainer. It saves me from being cold, it’s comfy, and it’s on trend! I always keep an eye out when I’m shopping sale racks for base layers (aka anything that’s tight enough to find under other layers). I personally can’t justify paying full price for a piece that is going to be hidden most of the time. Well actually, I can’t justify paying full price for 99% of the things I buy! True story!
I’ve linked some other cute chambray options below. Is chambray a wardrobe staple for you in spring and summer, or are you still trying to figure out what all this hype is about? Outfit details below!
jumpsuit: J.Crew • turtleneck: similar here, here • sneakers: Lexi & Abbie • bag: Urban Outfitters
