Happy Monday! I can’t believe we have ourselves another snow day here in southern Connecticut! As much as I love watching Ranger play in the snow, I’m kind of just ready for Spring! At least I’ll be heading to Las Vegas on Wednesday for some (hopefully) warmer weather! Speaking of warmer weather… today I’m sharing my honest review of Marysia swimwear! I’m also answering the question: Are Marysia Swimsuits Worth The Price?
Like most things, I think the first time I stumbled across Marysia swimwear was on some blogger’s Instagram. What caught my attention was the scalloped style of the bikinis. They were classic, they were chic, and they definitely looked high end! (Little did I know!)
After finding out how much Marysia Swimwear cost, I kind of forgot about the brand for a few years. Of course I wanted one of those super sleek-looking swimsuits, but there was no way I was spending $300 for a bikini, or close to $400 for a one-piece. That would be crazy, right?!
One day I ran into Club Monaco to shop their 30% off sale and much to my surprise I saw that they had some Marysia swimsuits also marked down. It was the exact bikini I wanted: the Antibes Scalloped Bikini in red and white polka dots. I specifically remember one of my favorite bloggers, Emily of Champagne and Chanel, posting a picture on her Instagram feed wearing this exact bikini and I just loved it!
I made the mistake of trying the Antibes Bikini on in Club Monaco. After doing so, of course I had to have it! I think the top ended up costing me $80 and the bottoms were $60. Still a good amount of money for a bikini, but significantly less than what Marysia swimwear usually retails for.
And yes, I loved the bikini. I loved it so much I ended up buying a second Marysia bikini for full price from Everything But Water. By the way, EBW is one of my favorite place to shop for swimwear! Here’s the thing though: the second bikini I purchased from Marysia was an off-white/cream colored bikini. The bikini itself wasn’t very comfortable, but it was really cute, so who cares, right? After wearing it only once (on my trip to Belize two January’s ago) the cream colored bikini somehow discolored. I guess since I laid the bikini on top of a multi-colored towel the colors bled? Honestly, I’m no bikini expert, but I definitely don’t think bikinis are supposed to do that, especially not a $300+ one!!
Ultimately I would advise you to NOT buy a Marysia swimsuit. Sure I LOVE how they look, but it’s not worth the price. Instead, I would spend your money on an L*Space swimsuit. L*Space suits still cost a pretty penny, but at least they are really well-made. For me, I’m always willing to spend extra if I’m going to get a higher quality product. Unfortunately I just don’t think that’s the case with Marysia. You spend a lot of money for the name brand, but you don’t get a quality swimsuit. Bummer!!
Are you familiar with Marysia Swimwear? If so, what has your experience been with the brand? I’d love to know if I’m the only one who isn’t a huge fan of them…. or maybe there’s something I’m missing! If you’re looking for more affordable swimwear, check out my blog post here!
