As a blogger I have the opportunity to go to lots of events, which is awesome! I love events! Something you guys might not know about me is that I have a background in special events! Back in college I was the Assistant to the Director of Special Events and I loved every single minute of it!
This past week I got to go to two really awesome events, so I wanted to recap them here on the blog for you guys! You might have seen me post about them on Instagram, if not, that’s even better!
I got a lot of questions about how I even found out about The Home Edit’s book signing at Kirby and Company in Darien, CT, so I’ll start there! It definitely pays to follow businesses (and people) on Instagram! I found out about the book signing the day before it happened while scrolling through Instagram, where I was directed to RSVP via email. So I did!
The event itself was really well put together. Elaine, the owner of Kirby and Company did an amazing job! I got to mix and mingle with some Fairfield County locals (believe it or not, some people drove to this event from all across CT!…) and I got to meet the two women behind The Home Edit (THE). Now I’m looking forward to whatever the next event is that Kirby and Company hosts!
Let me start by saying, Simply by Simone is awesome! If you’re not following her on Instagram, or her blog, you should be! I’m so glad that Simone reached out to me this past September inviting me to her Fall Fashion Show at Bloomingdales. I went to that event, got to meet her, and we’ve been friends ever since!
This past Sunday, Simply by Simone hosted a Spring Fashion Show at Bloomingdales in White Plains. There was such a great turnout for the event and I had a blast! In addition to seeing spring styles on the runway, I got to hang out with my blogger friends, network with some really cool local businesses (oh heyyy Underground by A Game and Mad Donuts). Underground by A Game is a pop-up dining experience that aims to recreate what it means to go out to dinner. It is invite-only and accepts people who they feel will be a good fit for their events. The owner, Andrew Mercado is super nice!
Mad Donuts, started by an investment banker, has taken over Westchester County. You can find them at the White Plains Farmers Market, and yes, they really are the best donuts!
I used to think that all the good events happen in the city, but that’s so not true! I’ve been to so many amazing events here in Fairfield County, and the best part is, it doesn’t take me forever to get home afterwards!
