Ah! Sorry this is so delayed! Today I’m sharing a few of my favorite spots in Las Vegas. Have you ever been? I’ve been to Las Vegas many times (to visit my grandparents), but this past time was my first visit over the age of 21! I was finally able to gamble, party, and really enjoy all that Vegas has to offer (although I still got carded at every turn, oh well!).
We came across HYDE and what a gem this place is! HYDE is a bar/lounge with an indoor/outdoor terrace overlooking the fountains at the Bellagio! It turns into a nightclub on Friday & Saturday nights, but we were there on a Thursday at 6:00pm, so obviously I can’t vouch for that. They have a pretty good cocktail menu and tapas menu, but of course what I loved most were the views and being able to sit outside! I’d go back to HYDE in a heartbeat and the only thing I would change is getting there a little earlier so I could get better photos!
This is a must when you’re in Las Vegas! The Grand Canal Shoppes are something out of a story book. Walk inside and you’ll feel like you’re in Venice (okay not exactly, but close!). There is an actual canal that runs the length of the shoppes that you can take a gondola ride in! Along the canal on both sides are high-end stores, restaurants, and lots of dessert options!
While I haven’t been in every single casino on The Strip, I’ve been in a lot of them. By far, the Wynn & Encore are the nicest ones! Both have amazing dining options, the cleanest casinos, the most elaborate decor, and truly spectacular guest rooms!
You should definitely check out the Lakeside Restaurant for a afternoon cocktail and appetizers, you get to sit, as the name suggests, lakeside overlooking a huge man-made waterfall (or should I call it a water wall…?).
This past visit we ate dinner at Wazuzu (pan-Asian cuisine), which is actually located in the Encore, and loved it! The other restaurant I would have liked to have eaten at was Jardin…maybe next time!
When most people think of Vegas they think of gambling, lots of drinking, and being indoors all day. Well, not my Vegas! One of my favorite things to do when in Las Vegas is driving out to Red Rocks Canyon and doing some hiking! They’ve got a great visitor’s center and lots of different trails for all abilities. This past trip I did a 2.5 out-and-back hike that took about 2 hours. You were rewarded with amazing views of the valley!
I didn’t visit the Fashion Show Mall on this most recent trip, but when I was younger I absolutely LOVED this place! I even walked down the runway during one visit, which of course was just as fun as you’d expect for a 12 year-old girl! If you’re looking to do some shopping, but the haute couture shops in the casinos aren’t quite in your price range, then this is your place!
Okayyy truth be told I didn’t have time to make it to Seven Magic Mountains art installation during my time in Vegas…but I’m including it on this list because you definitely need to go check it out! The instillation will be up through 2021 (hopefully I’ll be back before then to see it!).
