Hello, hello friends! I’m writing to you from my grandma’s home in Ocracoke, North Carolina. It’s such a treat to be here! Waking up to ocean views each morning, eating my breakfast out on the porch, and digging my toes in the sand will never get old for me. And of course Ranger loves it here too! Even though I’m not in New England right now, I’m still dreaming up my New England Summer Bucket List.
Summer in New England this year is going to look a bit different, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have some safe, socially distanced fun! I’d love to know what’s on YOUR summer bucket list! Comment below sharing what is on your safe socially distanced bucket list this summer.
Make fresh salsa with my garden tomatoes.
In case you missed my blog post about my teeny tiny porch garden, check it out here! I planted 4 different heirloom tomatoes and I can’t wait for them to ripen so I can enjoy fresh tomatoes all summer long. Yum!
Go camping.
It’s been a couple of years since my epic camping/backpacking trips along the Appalachian trails in VA. This summer kind of feels like the perfect time to plan my first camping trip in New England! I don’t exactly know where I’d go camping yet, but maybe somewhere in Vermont or New Hampshire? Let me know if you have any suggestions!
Perfect a homemade dairy free ice cream recipe with my ice cream machine.
I bought THIS ice cream maker a month or so ago (it’s only $80!) and have been making ice cream ever since! While I’ve perfected my regular ice cream recipe, I still have a long way to go with my dairy free recipe.
Plan a family picnic.
Of course no picnic is complete without a ChappyWrap blanket! By now my entire family has hopped on the ChappyWrap train, I mean, you can’t argue that these blankets are so comfy, cozy, and exceptionally well made! I’d love to do a day trip up to Washington, CT and picnic there! Maybe afterwards we could explore some of the covered bridges.
Watch a sunrise & a sunset on the boat.
Last summer I went out on the boat a couple times with my family and we had so much fun! Whenever I’m by/on the water, my Weezie beach towels are never too far away! These beach towels are super soft, absorbent, and cute!
Go paddle boarding.
I guess before I go paddle boarding, first I need to buy a paddle board… I absolutely LOVE paddle boarding and it’s such a great workout! Which do you prefer paddle boarding or kayaking?
Get my beach body back.
When we first started quarantining I was consistently logging in to Greenwich Barre Studio’s IG live classes. I was also going on 2-3 mile runs once or twice a week! Then at some point I started spending less time exercising and more time working and well, you know how it goes…
For anyone looking for a great at-home workout, Greenwich Barre Studio is now offering virtual classes that are professionally filmed for the low price of $12/class OR $80/month.
Read 5 books.
I’ve already finished 1 book, Such a Fun Age and wow, what a great read. It’s so appropriate for the current climate we’re living in. If you read Little Fires Everywhere then you’ll love this book which has a similar feel, but entirely different storyline. For more book ideas, I always love looking to Simply Elsa who has such great recommendations!
