Happy Friday! I’m heading to Iceland today and I almost can’t believe it!! Before the influx of Iceland content I’ve got to catch up on sharing a few of my recent trips/travels with you- so keep an eye out for those this week (fingers crossed I have enough wifi to get those posts up). A couple of weeks ago my sister came home to CT for a few days. We had such a fun time while she was here! Katherine come backkkk (but really). Today I’m sharing all about our day trip from Greenwich to the North Fork! And make sure you scroll to the bottom for even MORE things to do on the North Fork.
We left Greenwich around 9:00am and got to Bedell Cellars around 11:30ish. Nice and early- ha! This isn’t my first time at Bedell Cellars, and it certainly won’t be my last! Apart from the wine being easily my favorite out on Long Island, the backdrop you get to enjoy while tasting their wines is absolutely stunning.
The first time I visited Bedell Cellars we got the VIP treatment thanks to one of my dad’s friends. We got the whole tour, an extended tasting menu, and delicious snacks. This time we had just as much fun even without the special treatment. Honestly I think it all comes down to how nice these wines are. You can’t NOT have a good time at Bedell Cellars.
After our relaxing afternoon at Bedell, we drove over to Noah’s restaurant in Greenport for lunch. This place did not disappoint! Noah’s is recognized for its innovation and consistently great reviews, and for offering the freshest ingredients. We loved everything we ordered and I really don’t think you can go wrong here. The only mistake you’ll make is showing up not super hungry. Ha! But really, the menu was creative and they had a good number of vegetarian options! Yippie!
(To clarify: I’m not a vegetarian, I eat fish, but I really appreciate when restaurants have interesting vegetarian dishes, and Noah’s definitely did.)
After our late lunch we headed back to Greenwich. We were pretty tired from spending the majority of the day out in the sun (and the wine probably didn’t help our cause either…), but in hindsight we should have stopped at another vineyard on the way home. I guess you could say this gives us an excuse to go back, right?!
My friend Simone spends her summers on the North Fork (lucky!!) and in doing so has PLENTY more knowledge than I do about where to shop/eat/go. She even tells you exactly where these amazing sunflower & lavender fields are! Check out her Top 10 Things to do on the North Fork here!
