Ranger’s Holiday Gift Guide
Happy Friday! It’s Ranger and Helen here with a very special gift-guide blog post that Ranger has been working on for months! If you think blogging is hard work, imagine being a dog blogger! Ranger works around the clock, day in and day out testing products! Ha! On Instagram it might look like she’s being forced to play with all these super cool toys, but don’t be fooled, she’s definitely having a great time doing it! Alright, all joking aside, Ranger and I love what we do. I think at the core of blogging is wanting to help people find the best products, the best methods, and the best experiences possible. At the end of the day, Ranger and I hope you consider us one of your best resources for trusted reviews, great advice, and some good laughs!
If you follow the two of us on Instagram then you’re probably familiar with Mooshiepets, but you might not know exactly what Mooshiepets is. Ranger and I have had the pleasure of working very closely with Mooshiepets since I brought Ranger home. Wow that’s already been 3 months! Crazy! French Fries Toy $13.90
This was one of the first toys Mooshiepet sent Ranger. Three months later and Ranger still LOVES playing with her french fries! What’s great about this toy is that it’s multidimensional. The fries, which separate into three parts, each have their own squeaker toy in them. They’re perfect for playing fetch and for playing tug with your dog. The French Fry container is really cool too! This is the part of the toy Ranger plays with the most. The red part of the toy has some sort of material inside of the fabric that makes a crinkly noise and Ranger can’t get enough of it! She’ll run around with this toy and chew on it for more than 5-10 minutes at a time. Which is a lot for a puppy!

DoyenDog Interactive Toy $12.99-$19.99
If you buy one toy based off Ranger’s recommendation, this should be that toy. (But you should get them all if you can, because they’re all awesome!) Unlike a Kong, which Ranger refuses to play with…this interactive toy keeps Ranger entertained for over 20 minutes at a time! As much as I brag about Ranger being a really well-behaved puppy, which she is most of the time, she is awful during mealtimes. In part this is because my boyfriend and I eat lots of our meals on the couch (ah! I can’t believe I just admitted that on here!), but still, she’s relentless. At least, she was relentless until Mooshiepets sent us this DoyenDog toy. Before we sit down to eat, I’ll fill this toy up with a few of Ranger’s favorite treats (also from Mooshiepets, linked here) and there you have it! Ranger will be occupied for the next 15 or so minutes playing with her DoyenDog.
Honestly, my first impression of this toy when I saw it online was something along the lines of “what the heck is that thing?” I’ve just never seen any toys like it before and I didn’t really understand how it worked until I saw Ranger play with it. I’ve posted a ton of videos of Ranger playing with her DoyenDog to my IG highlights (file under: Ranger) so make sure you watch those to better grasp how the DoyenDog works and why it’s so awesome!
Harry Barker Holiday Toys $9.80
Sure all of Ranger’s toys are cute, but I especially love this preppy brand of dog toys, collars, and leashes. Ranger has lots of cute Harry Barker toys from Mooshiepets, like her Gingham bone, which she has so much fun playing fetch with. The Santa and Scotty Dog toys are so cute to see her playing with, especially under our Christmas tree! Harry Barker toys aren’t just cute though, they’re made with recycled plastic bottles, which is so cool! You can bet Ranger will be playing with all of her holiday-themed Harry Barker toys on Christmas morning and they’d make the perfect present for your furry little friend!
No Hide Stix $9.99
These imitation hide chewy stix by Earth Animal are Ranger’s absolute favorite chew, especially since she’s teething like crazy! I actually buy these from my local pet supply shop, Choice Pet, and have at least 5 bags in the house at all times. I just can’t imagine running out of them, Ranger would be so mad at me! For non local friends, you can order these No Hide Stix from Mooshiepets. Mooshiepets carries them in a few different flavors: chicken, pork, and salmon. These were a great option for Ranger right when I brought her home at 8 weeks, because they’re easy on a puppy’s stomach and they’re small enough for a puppy to enjoy. She’s really grown into these chews nicely. 8-week-old Ranger would take about a week to chew one of these stix up, now it takes her about a day, but she still enjoys them just as much!
Riley’s Pumpkin and Coconut Dog Treats $4.54
What a great deal! This bag has lasted Ranger over a month at this point and I give her these treats all. the. time. These are the perfect size treats for the DoyenDog interactive toy. They’re large enough to avoid falling out of the toy super easily, but small enough to still fit through the dispenser hole. Also, using Ranger as a test subject here (ha!), she can eat more than a few of these treats without upsetting her stomach. Yay! Oh and one last thing, these treats are a lot softer than bigger name biscuit brands, which is why they’re especially great for a tiny puppy.
Puppy Dental Kit $14.99
I know what you’re probably thinking… “A toothbrush? As a present? Boring!” Believe it or not, Ranger loves brushing her teeth! It’s one of her favorite things to do (I’m guessing the toothpaste must taste really good). This gift isn’t just for your puppy though, it’s also for you! What do I mean by that? The earlier you start getting a dog used to brushing its teeth, the easier it will be! No matter how cute the puppy, no one likes bad breath. So yeah, perfect stocking stuffer for your pup this holiday season! And if you’re looking for the perfect stocking for your puppy, this is Ranger’s and I’m kind of obsessed with it!
