Hi guys! I figured I’d pull together all the stuff I tried on at Old Navy the other day. If I’m posting something below it’s because it’s Style Inherited approved! But what does that mean? I look for a few things when I’m trying stuff on (especially stuff that’s at a lower price point…). Quality

Obviously my standards for quality differ depending on what store I’m in. So if I deem something as great quality at Old Navy that isn’t going to be the same as my definition for “great quality” at Club Monaco. I mean…everything at Club Monaco is great quality! But at Old Navy when I say it’s great quality it’s relative to its price tag. (But honestly, while what I bought from Old Navy was inexpensive, none of the stuff I snagged looks or feels cheap!). No matter where I go, you can trust that I won’t steer you towards something “cheap.”

Faux

Some faux things are great. Like my faux suede jacket or faux suede booties I got from Nordstrom. However, I’m always careful when it comes to faux anything. It still has to look decent! (This totally ties into the point above, sorry for being repetitive). For instance, the faux suede jacket I tried on at Old Navy was awful. It didn’t look good or feel good at all (IMO). So my stance on faux: I LOVE a good faux piece, but I will never waste my money on something so faux that it just looks gaudy.

Trends

I always ask myself “is this trend worth it.” Honestly, the reason I’m sometimes really late to the trend is because I really take my time to think about whether I actually like the trend or if I just like it because I’m seeing it everywhere and its the “cool” thing. You’ll hear this from most bloggers (because it’s true), if I’m going to hop on a trend then I’m going to try to steer towards a lower price point (hint, going to places like Old Navy versus Saks).

Fit/Feel

I’m really excited to start doing more try-on sessions for you! I’m kind of a skeptic when it comes to watching bloggers do try ons. Please don’t read this wrong, but I’m always struggling to find stuff that fits. For instance, size small at Forever 21 is too big on me. But then I watch these bloggers who are the same size as me doing try-ons with stuff I know won’t fit me and clearly I’m confused! As a blogger I want to trust fellow bloggers that they won’t steer me wrong with sizing. It just seems a bit iffy to me. But anyway! I want to do a better job next time with focusing on the fit of the clothes and whether the items are “tts.” And of course the feel is important too. Itchy sweaters are the worst. Enough said!
