I’m backkkk! Sorry for dropping the ball on Monday. So unlike me! Anyway, today I’m bringing you an honest (#notsponsored) review of three natural deodorants I’ve tried…but as we speak I’m getting recommendations from you guys to try out even more kinds of natural deodorants, so keep an eye out in a few weeks for part 2 to this post!
As I mentioned above, this post is truly just me being passionate about something kind of weird… for some reason I’ve latched onto this “quest to find the best all-natural deodorant” and that’s exactly what I’m doing here. Actually, it’s not that mysterious why I’ve become obsessed with all natural deodorants… my mom scared the heck out of me at a very young age by telling me that antiperspirant causes Alheizmers (because of the aluminum). None of these all natural deodorant products were sent to me. In other words, I bought all the stuff I’m sharing with you guys and I’m going to tell you exactly what I think about these all natural deodorants! Here we go!
Rankings all natural deodorants based purely on the least number of ingredients, if that’s what you’re into…
#1 ALAFFIA- 15 ingredients
#2 KOPARI- 20+ ingredients
#3 LAVANILA- too many to count!
Now let’s get into the good stuff!
Side note: this was the first natural deodorant I bought (got it at Sephora!) Alright, now onto the PROS and CONS:
COST: $14 (pretty typical in the realm of natural deodorants)
COLORING: Looks exactly like regular deodorant (white)
PROS: Smells great, cute packaging, perfect size (also comes in travel sizes though, which are super convenient!). Texture wise this deodorant acts exactly like you’d expect deodorant to, so nothing new to get used to or surprising.
CONS: Not the most effective…what I mean by this is the scent won’t last you the whole day (at least not in my opinion). When I use this LAVANILA deodorant I have to reapply throughout the day and also have to accept the fact that I’m not going to end the day smelling my best.
I purchased this deodorant while waiting in a checkout line at Whole Foods, you can get it there or order it on Amazon! I definitely got mine on sale for under $10, making the cost of this one very affordable! However, on Amazon it’s priced right under $14.
COST: varies between $10-$14 depending on where you get it.
COLORING: Charcoal colored
PROS: Packaged just like big, name-brand deodorant companies, there’s nothing new to get used to here. The scent is strong (sometimes I like it, sometimes I don’t), but most importantly, this deodorant will keep me smelling fresh the whole day. This is the deodorant I reach for when I have a long day and need to ensure I smell good.
CONS: You might really dislike the smell of this one… if I were to recommend this one to you I would say try the Lavender scent, the Coconut Bergamot will either be a hit or miss.
And last but not least- the new kid on the block: Kopari! I just picked this up from Sephora and love it!
COST: $14
COLORING: Somewhere between light brown and peach…
PROS: Super clean product, it’s vegan, cruelty-free, and might even save the world one day…we’ll see… but in all seriousness though, Sephora has rolled out their “Clean at Sephora” stickers on products that make the cut on being the safest beauty alternatives. (I kind of have a feeling this has to do with BeautyCounter finally getting the beauty business to crack down on what they put into our products, but that’s just a hunch). Most importantly- this stuff works! It keeps my underarms smelling fresh like coconuts all. day. long. Yippie!
CONS: Takes a little bit to get used to and it might melt? Maybe? I’ll have to get back to you guys on whether it can melt or not, but when testing mine out, it goes on almost liquidy! Weird!
