Hey friends! I’ve been tracking my analytics and gosh do you guys love this blog post! This Jack Rogers post has been my most-read blog post the past 3 consecutive months!
If you’re reading this, I’m guessing you’re most likely a new face around here! Welcome! I’m Helen, a lifestyle blogger living in Greenwich, CT. Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the internet!! If you do decide to buy a pair of Jacks, it would mean the world to me if you’d use my link here.
This past year I got to partner with Jack Rogers (a HUGE accomplishment for me!). It’s important to note though, I wrote this blog post wayyy before every partnering with them and I’ve been wearing Jack Rogers for longer than I can remember!
I make a small commission off of purchases through my link above, which helps me continue to bring you guys great content here on Style Inherited. I really appreciate you guys!
Alrighty then, let’s start sifting through everything you need to know about Jack Rogers, and more!! You might want to take notes. Ha, I’m only kind of joking…
Here at Style Inherited we believe in honest opinions, quality over quantity, and that a great outfit and the right mindset can solve almost anything. Thanks for checking us out and hopefully you’ll stop by again soon!
To say I’m obsessed with Jack Rogers would be an understatement… I think at last count I owned 7 pairs of Jacks (oops!). Whether you’re contemplating buying your very first pair of Jack Rogers, or if you’re looking to branch out from their classic sandal, this post has all the answers to your questions! I hope you find this to be a helpful resource. If so, please pass this post along to your friends!
A: YES! Jack Rogers are 100% worth the investment because they’re built to last. On top of that, these sandals never go out of style! I bought my first pair of Jack Rogers over 7 years ago and I only just now had to retire them. If you don’t want to buy them full price (I don’t blame you), then sign up for the Jack Rogers newsletter to be notified of any sales. And if you live in the NYC area, they have a headquarters sale once a year, which is where you’ll get the most amazing pricing on their shoes.
A: Honestly, the classic Jack Rogers sandals do take some time to wear in. I don’t recommend wearing them for long periods of time until your feet get used to the leather soles, but you can also get heel pads like the ones below to help make them a little more comfy. One tip to speed up wearing in your Jacks is to wear them in the shower and get the completely wet. Apparently it works pretty well! If you don’t want to wear them in the shower, then just be patient and wear them around the house to wear them in!
* I’ve never used heel pads, but I know lots of people who have and swear by them!
I do want to add, Jack Rogers has recently released several new styles that have a more comfortable & cushion-y heel bed, so if you’re on the fence, these are for you!! Shop these comfortable Jacks below!
A: Jacks run true to size length wise, as for width some people say they run a little narrow. As someone with super narrow feet, I can’t speak all that accurately to the width of them. My regular width Jacks give me some wiggle room, but my narrow Jacks fit perfectly. Maybe if you have wider feet you’ll want to order the wide version, but for the most part I think people are fine with ordering their usual size (I wear my normal size- a size 7).
A: I buy my Jack Rogers sandals directly from their website! You can also get them on Nordstrom, Zappos, and lots of other places, but I usually find that Jack Rogers’ website has the best prices (because they almost always have a sale going on). I’ve also bought some of my shoes from the JR headquarters sale where they mark their shoes down to ridiculously low prices! (I snagged a pair of sneakers for $20 and a pair of booties for under $60 at the headquarters sale!)
A: Ah! Do I even want to admit this? More pairs than I can count! I recently purchased these Jacks Natural Flat Sandals, and these Daisy Print Jacks are next on my list!
A: I had a pair of fake Jacks back in college. Truthfully, they are really comfy because their soles are soft and cushy and are not made of real leather that Jack Rogers are made of. You can buy them online from Shoe Carnival here. Honestly, it is pretty difficult to tell the difference between fake Jacks and real Jacks! Ha, not sure if I should be proud of that or not… I will say that my real Jack Rogers Sandals have lasted over 7 years. Fake ones will last you maybeee one summer, so if you actually do the math the real Jacks are cheaper in the long run!
A: I don’t think so? Over time you’re going to get the dark marks from your toes, and even if you clean them off each time you wear them it’s still going to probably happen. It’s okay though! It happens to everyone no matter how well you take care of your Jacks. If you do get a lot of dirt on them though, I just use dish soap and a little bit of water and wipe them down.
Hope this helps for now! Let me know if you have any other questions or think I missed anything major!
With Love From Greenwich,
Helen

Will it be okay if I take a full shower with the classic jacks on! Or do I just stand there with them on!
Great question! I’ve worn mine in the ocean and they’ve been totally fine afterwards so I figure they’d be fine the entire time, but maybe just to be safe (since I don’t know the exact products you use), you might want to just put them on in the beginning or the end before you start using soap, shampoo, etc.
OR you can just wear them around your house for a little while each day to start wearing them in!
I just bought my first pair and my little toe runs the stitching on the side of the shoe and it hurts is that normal?
Also how do you keep yourself from sliding around in them?
Hi Margaret,
That has happened to me in the past and over time it will soften and no longer hurt. As for the sliding around issue, I don’t seem to have that. While my Jacks aren’t tight, I don’t think I’ve ever had an issue of feeling like I’m falling out of them. Sorry!
Hi thank you for replying!!
When I say sliding around I mean the bottom of the shoes being so smooth that I slide. Also what would you say is your favorite neutral shoe?
Hi thank you so much for responding back to me!
When I say skidding I mean because the bottoms are slick. I read some people scuff them up.
Also what would you say is the best color and style to go with most outfits? I got the platinum traditional flip flop.
Thanks
Platinum is my favorite color! You made a great choice!

I’m a huge fan of the white or the platinum colors, those are my personal favorites and I wear them with EVERYTHING! Oh I see what you’re saying now. Yes, wearing them on gravel is a great way to scuff up the bottoms. Again, I haven’t ever had an issue slipping in them when walking around, but I can see how people would say the bottoms can be slippery.
What is the heel pad you recommend!
I am buying my wife a couple pairs of Jack Rogers for her Birthday and am looking at leather ones. She already has 3 pairs of Jellies and I want to buy a couple pies of clearance leathers off of the Jack Rogers website. They only have them a available in 5.5 which is typically her shoe size. Can you tell me if the jellies and leather sandals are sized even a slight bit different? Thanks for the blog and help it may provide!
Hi Jeremy, that’s such a great gift idea! In my experience the jellies and the leather Jacks fit the same!
Best,
Helen
What is the heel pad that you recommend? I no longer see it in your post. I definitely need something to make them wearable bc the heel is so hard and uncomfortable! Thanks for the info!
Hi Jamie!! Oh no, I’m sorry to hear that! It definitely took a little time to get used to in the beginning, here are some heel pads to try (I haven’t used them myself, but they have good reviews!) https://rstyle.me/+KHtbW90P9xV4WA9hZdhDKA
These are advertised for the ball of your foot, but they are a good size to put at the heel of a Jack Rogers sandal so you can protect your heel.
Let me know how these work!
Best,
Helen
noticed that negative comments do not appear on this site. My black Demi wedges broke on the third wearing! As they were purchased at the end of the summer, it appears I am stuck. They look brand new on the bottom.
Hi Jena! First off, thank you for taking the time to check out my little corner of the internet and for sharing with me your experience with Jack Rogers. I’m so sorry to hear that your Demi wedges broke on the third wear, that doesn’t sound right at all and I hope that Jack Rogers is able to fix this in some way. I’ve personally never had an issue with any of my Jacks (I own 12+ pairs at this point), but that is really disappointing for you and for that I’m sorry. I’m going to go ahead and reach out to Jack Rogers on my own and ask them of there’s anything they can do for you. I’m not sure they’ll give me a response, but if so, I’ll keep you posted!
Best,
Helen
Hi thanks for more info on Jacks! I have had my first pair 20 years ago. Didn’t know how famous they were until, some one said Jackie Kennedy wore them on Nantucket! They gained praise because of her! You leave on beach take a swim, come back, slip your wet feet in them! Good for lunch or dinner attire on the island. I have collected 4 pairs over the years! I often wear them on the Vineyard. Thank you, now ready to buy a pair for my granddaughters’ 19th birthday.
What a sweet story Judy! Thank you for sharing!! 🙂
Are jack rogers made in the Dominican Republic?
Enjoyed your story, thanks for sharing. I was born and raised in West Palm Beach. Back in the day Jack Rogers were just a Palm Beach thing. Yes, Jackie made them famous! I’ve consistently owned a t least one pair of Jack Rogers since I was in 10th grade (14 years old). I’m 55 now. I’m down to three pair Navaho White, Tan & White and Orange and Blue (University of Florida colors).
They are timeless.
Denise! Thank you SO much for sharing this story with me. I love that Jack Rogers have been such a huge part of your life for so long… growing up in West Palm Beach, wow jealous of your weather!! Hope you’re doing well!
Hey big Jacks fan here also love the gingham tote in this post could you please share the source?
Hi Colleen! The tote bag is from Barrington Gifts! Here is my link! https://rstyle.me/+7FRD8lBiiUS1iobC4Cl68Q
I bought two pairs of Lauren mid heel not knowing what size for my first pair. The 8 is a little snug on the little toe, and the 8.5 fits with some room. Is it going to hurt more bigger with rubbing and better to go smaller to stretch?
Hi Brandi!
I’m sorry I can’t be tons of help here. My initial reaction would be if you go snug and stretch, wear them in water and that should help a lot. BUT if you go a half size up you might be more comfortable, then again they’re heels so that might not work.
