It’s Monday! I have been counting down the minutes until today, I know, roll your eyes at me, but my Grandma and cousin are coming to see the new apartment! Oh wait…that means I need to get on the whole cleaning/organizing kick/ throwing everything in the closet so it looks neat! In that case, this is going to be a quick post about these paper bag Club Monaco shorts!
Paper bag shorts. Some people love them, some people hate them. I love the feel and fit of these paper bag Club Monaco shorts–translation, they’re really comfy! But do I like how they look? Well, kinda? I think these shorts look great on some people, but if you’re really petite and slender then they’ll probably swallow you up. With that being said, the baggy look/excess fabric look is VERY in right now. I mean, have you seen all these super wide jeans that are taking the internet by storm? I’m not a fan at all, the wide-legged pant was never my thing. High-waisted, sure I can kind of get on board with that, but these tent-like pants are a bit out of my comfort zone. I’m not one for joining the circus, but what do you think?
ANYWAY back to the topic of these paper bag Club Monaco shorts… if I had to choose between dresses, skirts, or shorts, well, I’d probably choose the first two over shorts. I mean, jean shorts are a classic, but they aren’t the most comfortable and even if you’re wearing a different material shorts, I find skirts and dresses to be much better especially on those hot, summer days. Is it obvious yet I’ve had a few glasses of champagne tonight? I feel like I’m talking in circles! Okay, point being: I am a fan of this paper bag shorts trend, I think it’s worth testing out, especially if they’re a super cute pattern, but proceed with caution. They’ll either look great on you and you’ll love them, or you’ll cringe and wonder what they heck you were thinking. Boom. Done.
What I love about theseeee shorts is the adjustable waist with the tie front. The green stripes are so muted they almost act as a neutral! Yippie for matching with everything (or almost everything!). And if you’re wondering, this cropped top is from Club Monaco too! Keep scrolling for outfit details!
