“I don’t need another pair of shoes” … said no girl ever. While I love shoes (and purses) as much as the next girl, my favorite accessory never goes out of style, it’s always on trend and constantly the topic of conversation.

My timeless accessory that I bring with me wherever I go is…being informed. I believe that staying well informed is the most important accessory anyone can have. So, what do I mean by that?

There’s a reason why I am obsessed with my Skimm tote: for starters it’s priceless (you can’t buy this bag, you have to earn it…more about this below), but also because this bag represents my commitment to staying current and keeping myself educated on global matters.

The Skimm is my favorite news source. If you’ve heard of it then we definitely have something in common (I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love reading The Skimm). If you haven’t heard of it then I’m so glad to be the one to introduce it to you!

Two besties started The Skimm, which is an entertaining and educational newsletter that keeps its readers up to date with what is happening in the world. In the most basic sense The Skimm skims the news and sends you a few of the most important current issues. The email always starts off with a funny/entertaining quote, something that could easily be used to break the ice in an awkward elevator encounter or I don’t know…whenever.

The Skimm takes 10 minutes tops to read each morning (or night if you prefer…I’m definitely a morning person though). Reading The Skimm before you start your day has huge benefits…several times while I was in college I was actually more informed during class discussions than my professors because they didn’t read The Skimm, which is obviously where I got the latest news updates from. For the record, being able to walk up to a group of people and be confident in conversing with them on current events is priceless. (Anddddd speaking of price, The Skimm is free!)
