New series alert! Every other week I’ll be posting a work outfit on you guessed it, Wednesday! Yes these are actual outfits I wear to work (in case you forgot, I’m in the financial industry, so my dress code tends to be a little more strict/formal than let’s say if I worked at a start-up or marketing firm). With that being said, I still like to stay inspired with my work attire and find cute, yet comfortable (I repeat, comfortable!) outfits that make me feel good about myself. As my mom always says to me, if you look good, you feel good, you do good! So true!
One of the more daunting tasks after I landed my fist job was being able to dress appropriately for said job. I mean, investing in business casual attire isn’t cheap! Not only that, but figuring out the dress code at your new job is pretty overwhelming as well. Luckily my recipe for success is simple: establish a solid foundation with some flexible, key pieces. This lavender top from J. Crew for example… it looks great with these Club Monaco navy pants (will feature them in future post), with several of my skirts, and I can wear it under a blazer, sweater, or by itself. That is the definition of flexible! Outfit details below:
shirt: J. Crew • skirt: Club Monaco • heels: Louise et Cie (old…but loving these!) • purse: Kate Spade (similar here)
the scoop: this J. Crew top is on major sale right now (I’m talking under $35), I’m wearing a size 00 // I’m wearing a 0 in this Club Monaco skirt // Louise et Cie shoes run true to size (and are super comfortable! Admittedly I own at least 5 pairs…)
I had so much fun shooting this outfit with my cousins Adrianna and Kevin! As you can see above, we like to mix work and play!
