I have a feeling I’m not the only one counting down the seconds until spring, am I right?! As much as I love my sweater collection and scarves and boots, I am so ready for a change! (And frankly, I’m just tired of freezing my butt off every morning on my commute to work…at 6:00am…) On a more serious note, I think a lot of people suffer from just not being as happy when it’s wintertime, cold outside, and gets dark so early. Sometimes I wonder what’s keeping me in Greenwich, CT instead of moving somewhere warmer? I LOVE the beach (well, currently I only live 15 min away from the beach, which is nice in the summer, but useless now), I love warm weather, and I also know that I would never miss the snow/cold weather. The first time I celebrated Christmas in North Carolina I loved the fact that we were able to go to the beach on Christmas morning and I didn’t miss the idea of a “White Christmas“ for a second!
Really though, I’m at a point in my life where I could just up and move anywhere without consequence, and while that idea sounds exciting and irresistible, I just lack any real desire to do so. Do you know what I’m talking about, or am I crazy? Maybe it’s because I know I’d miss the familiarity of Connecticut, of Fairfield County, of New England, and let’s not forget how much I’d miss my family! For now I’m happy here despite the drawn out winters, but maybe one day I’ll outgrow the sentimentality I have towards this area. Am I the only one who has this strong sense of loyalty towards New England and reluctance to leave? Or do you feel the same way?
This might be jumping the gun a bit (I shot this outfit when it was 40 degrees out), but I’m so excited for the spring trends that I’m noticing as I walk by countless window displays daily. Hello Fifth Ave! This chambray shirt dress for instance takes a classic style and gives it an unexpected twist with its silver triangle pattern. And I love it!
I tried to style this dress with a belt, but the sides of the dress are shorter than the front and the back, so once I belted it it was a little too Angelina Jolie revealing, if you know what I mean! Maybe if I sized up to a medium then I’d be able to belt it. Honestly though, I love the clean, simple look of just styling the dress with a classic jean jacket. Plus, the monochrome look is something I am loving right now, which you’re probably already aware of if you’re a regular here!
I’m planning on posting a separate review on this pink tote bag, but you’ll never believe where I got it and how much I paid! Drum roll please….it’s from Amazon and it was less than $25! It comes in 9 colors and I might just get the other 8! Full outfit details below!
