It’s February and you know what that means…Valentines Day. Ugh. I’ve never been a huge Valentines Day person. Like hellooo, I’ll accept flowers and chocolate any day of the year. Who’s with me? One thing I’m not a fan of is dressing for the occasion. (I don’t mean to hate on anyone who gets all giddy for Valentines Day, I wish I was that way! I’m just not…) With that being said, I love the color pink. I’m not a huge fan of red, because my hair is red….but anyway, I love pink for many reasons and none of them are because of the sentimentality that the color holds for lots of people. And hey, if that’s your thing and you love to throw on heart-patterned sweaters and heart-shaped sunglasses to celebrate Valentines Day, good for you! I’m just more of a, purposely wear extra black to make a statement kind of girl.
If you’ve been following along with my blog then you know I love mixing and matching shades of the same color. This outfit is no exception, my bright pink scarf and my millennial pink combat boots compliment each other so well! Another aspect of this outfit I want to highlight is how I took this oversized sweater and turned it into a more fitted look by tying it in the front. This might not be a style everyone is on board with, but this sweater almost came down to my knees, but is too see-through to wear as a dress, so tying it up seemed like the best option. Plus, I was then able to style it with my beloved Club Monaco feather vest! It’s a close call between which I love more, beige on beige, or beige with black. Which do you prefer?
Happy Friday! I hope you have a great weekend, I’ll be relaxing (yay!) and watching the Super Bowl (meh). Outfit details below!
