Hello, hello! Who’s ready for summer travel?! Next week Ranger and I are embarking on an exciting road trip to Maine! I’m eagerly counting down the days until I get to explore a state that I’ve only ever spent a few hours in!! (Long story short, growing up I went to sleepaway camp in New Hampshire and one of our day trips was to a beach in Maine, but I can’t even remember which one!) Needless to say, I am SUPER excited for this adventure! Keep reading to find out what I’m packing for my trip (I put together an amazing, New England-inspired summer capsule wardrobe featuring Joules), where we’re staying, and more!!
Thank you to Joules USA for partnering with me on today’s blog post. As always, all opinions are my own! Learn about the greater impact my sponsored blog posts make with the Phillips Lane Promise.
For those who aren’t familiar with the brand Joules, they’re British-based and offer exceptionally high quality clothing at a great price point. Beyond that, Joules designs their pieces with the outdoors and an active lifestyle in mind. Perhaps most importantly, Joules practices sustainable sourcing of materials and respects the environment, which of course is a HUGE selling point for me! Learn more about their responsibility pledges here & here.
So many of Joules’ pieces give me that “quintessential New England” feeling, which just makes my heart happy. Also, those who know me well know I’m a sucker for stripes! For size reference, I wear a size 2 in all their clothes, which fits me like a 0/00. For their shoes I wear my usual size 7.
We’ll be staying at the “spirited and soulful” Spruce Point Inn, which is located right outside the town of Boothbay Harbor. I’ve heard only great reviews from friends who have previously stayed at Spruce Point Inn. PLUS the water-front resort is dog-friendly!! (Let’s be honest, we all know Ranger’s the life of the party!)
In addition to *hopefully* finding a little bit of time to relax and soak up the beautiful Maine coastline, I’m also looking forward to a sailboat excursion (weather permitting), some hiking, exploring downtown, and more!! With all of Joules’ pieces designed for adventure, I feel confident in my packing for this trip!
Side note: can we take a moment to acknowledge the fact that I for once didn’t leave packing to the last minute (read as: 11pm the night before). I kind of feel like this deserves a celebration. Ha! In all seriousness though, this is definitely one of the perks of planning a capsule wardrobe. Capsule wardrobes make packing SUPER easy! 10/10 recommend.
Speaking of easy packing… let’s talk about this Golightly Packaway Rain Jacket. It folds down into its own little convenient and space-saving pouch. After this trip I definitely plan on keeping it in my car just in case! (This piece runs a little big in my opinion. If you’re between sizes I would suggest sizing down.) For a sturdier option, I’ve packed this classic, navy waterproof jacket, which is one of my favorites. (I previously featured this jacket here on my trip to Vermont last year.)
I can’t wait to show you all the ways to style these pieces throughout my adventures up in Maine! Have you ever been to Boothbay Harbor, Maine before? If so, please send any recommendations!
