Off to North Carolina tomorrow to see my family for Christmas! I’m so excited for (hopefully) warm weather! Actually, I think I’m more excited to just have a few days to relax, and dare I say, sleep in!! Well, sleeping in for me is anything past 6:00am, but I’m hoping I’ll be able to get in a few extra hours. Nothing crazy, but waking up at 9:00am would be nice, right?

Decided to try something different with this outfit and shot these photos inside…pardon the less than ideal lighting, but I wasn’t about to freeze my butt off outside, so here we are instead! I love this tartan top from J Crew. And as an added bonus it has a bow in the back! I’m pairing my top with a navy blue ruffle skirt from Club Monaco. This skirt is one of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe, it just works with everything! The ruffles down the front definitely transform this wardrobe staple into the opposite of a boring, classic piece.

Again, I love playing around with pairing unexpected patterns together. I think the tartan and animal print work here, and I even threw in some velvet with these Steve Madden booties.
