Happy Friday! I am so excited to share this outfit with you! There’s definitely more to this look than just a lot of pink, making it warrant some story time… Back in elementary school I dressed up as Elle Woods from Legally Blonde 3 years in a row. I’m not joking! I don’t know what it was, maybe younger me just loved her personality, her pink outfits, and how she took her dog (Bruiser) everywhere! I basically looked just like Reese Witherspoon (or so I thought) with my pink outfits, personality the size of Texas, and my own puppy companion, named Cookie. Let’s be honest though, Cookie was way better at playing Bruiser than I was at playing Elle Woods. No matter how much pink I put on, I was never going to be “legally blonde.” My mom and I even tried dying my hair one year, with (permanent) blonde dye, but somehow it all rinsed out instead of changing my hair color. I’m glad it didn’t, I think the whole moral behind Legally Blonde is to be unapologetically yourself, whether you’re blonde, brunette, or a redhead.
Fast forward many years and I still am channeling my inner Elle Woods! Then again, who wouldn’t want to be Elle Woods, she’s smart, successful, and matches pink with pink better than anyone! I love this Club Monaco outfit that I picked up during their Black Friday sale. This cropped sweater is really soft and the perfect length. This skirt is equally as soft, and its muted pink tone makes it perfect for wearing to work. As I mentioned in a previous post, I’m wearing these OTK boots like it’s my job because they are just so comfy and keep my legs warm! I think adding these boots is an unexpected twist that takes this conservative outfit and adds a little bit something extra. Speaking of extra– this feather vest is gorgeous! I got it at Club Monaco during Black Friday as well for $90 (originally $200). Outfit details below…have a great weekend!
sweater: Club Monaco • skirt: Club Monaco • vest: Club Monaco • boots: Goodnight Macaroon
the scoop: I’m wearing a size XS in the sweater and 00 in this skirt. The vest is a size XS (I tried the S and it just swallowed me whole kind of). Boots are a size 37, I suggest sizing down if you’re unsure what size to get.
