Wow, can you believe it’s already November? How did that happen?! As sad as I am to see October come to a close, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t already giddy with excitement as we move into the holiday season! With everything looking a little bit different this year, especially the holidays, I’m savoring every small get together and special moment. For anyone who is missing an opportunity to see their family in person this year, I feel you! Today I’m sharing how to comfortably host an intimate Friendsgiving! Keep reading to find out all the details on our lake-front Friendsgiving featuring The Christmas Tree Shops!
The Christmas Tree Shops’ slogan, “Every Season. Every Reason,” is a great one and resonates with me especially now! Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion, or just want to get together with friends, The Christmas Tree Shops is the perfect place to get whatever you’ll need for a memorable gathering at an affordable price!
I always love how this time of year reminds us to go out of our way to make time for those we care about. Instead of one large Friendsgiving, this year consider hosting several smaller Friendsgiving celebrations. I got together with a few of my blogger friends and we enjoyed a lovely afternoon outdoors together! Check out Claire, Kristy, and Caitlin here!
Story time! Growing up, The Christmas Tree Shops was where my mom and I would go when we needed extra kitchenware for larger parties, like my Sweet 16 and high school graduation! They always had a great selection of classic and simple kitchenware. I can definitely attest to the fact that their stuff lasts since we’ve had some of our plates from The Christmas Tree Shops for over 10 years now!
The key to recreating our stunning Friendsgiving tablescape is to keep your kitchenware simple, add few fun & festive accents, and bring in lots of natural greenery!
We wanted to really highlight the tablecloth and natural centerpiece (greenery, pumpkins, and gourds), which is why we kept it simple with our plates, bowls, and water glasses. As an added bonus, by keeping our kitchenware white, we can keep using these pieces year-round!
When planning our tablescape, we didn’t want to subtract from the gorgeous lake and fall foliage backdrop. We brought in some pops of color with these orange linen napkins, Claire’s homemade butternut squash soup, and the natural centerpiece!
These cute leaf-shaped salt and pepper shakers
and round cheese board…
These decorative pumpkin bowls and festive table runner, which we used to brighten up this wooden tray!
As for the food, we kept it pretty simple! A grazing board is always a great crowd-pleaser. After munching & enjoying some wine, we finally sat down and had Claire’s delicious homemade butternut squash soup! It was such a nice way to spend an afternoon with some blogger friends while soaking up the break-taking scenery & our beautiful tablescape!

You pick some really pretty table decor. Also, I don’t really know if I’m going to celebrate Friendsgiving this year, but it does sound fun. I guess I will have to see.
Thank you Venus! The table decor (apart from the natural pieces) was from The Christmas Tree Shops! They have such great stuff!
This makes me anxious for the day that I actually have the space for hosting. Right now, I’m in a relatively small townhome and we don’t have any dining or “living” space really. It’s super cramped when we try to have parties. But one day I will do Friendsgiving and it might not be *this* pretty, but you’ve inspired me!
Stephanie, I know whenever you host a Freindsgivng eventually that it will be amazing and so well done, just like everything you do!! π
What a beautiful tablescape! I’ve heard of Christmas Tree Shops but I’ve never actually been to one. I need to check out the locations.
Thanks Lily! Yes you definitely need to check them out! Hopefully they have one near you!
