Good morning and Happy Monday! I’ve got my work cut out for my this week getting everything done before our trip to Iceland. Trying not to freak out… I know it’s going to be awesome, but I’ve got a LOT to do before Friday! Today I’m so excited to be shining a spotlight on two women-owned businesses that should be on your radar. Sam and Megan are pretty darn amazing and I’m so lucky to have connected with them!
Auburn Jewelry is a jewelry company local to Westchester County, run by Samantha Levine. Auburn Jewelry has both a ready-made line of necklaces, earrings, bracelets, cufflinks, and keychains AND can also do completely custom pieces. Sam can make your dreams come true in sterling silver with 16 colors of enamel. (Gold & gold-plated options are now available as well, my “r” necklace pictured above is gold-plated with pink enamel).
You can find Auburn Jewelry online here, on Macy’s website here, at select stores locally, AND at local pop-up shops. Follow Auburn Jewelry on Instagram to find out when their next pop-up shop is! I’m pretty sure she’s currently rotating between Fairfield County, Westchester County, and parts of New Jersey. Sam is really nice, easy to talk to, and just fun to be around. It’s definitely worth going to meet her in person and hear her story of how she decided to follow her dreams and pursue this full-time!
For anyone wondering about my necklace, the “r” is for Ranger! What else?! I absolutely LOVE the size of this piece and how I can wear it every day. It looks great on its own or layered with my other dainty gold necklace.
Where to begin!? THOM KELLY is a sustainable clothing brand that makes its clothes in the USA and is committed to creating as little waste as possible. These shirts are quite literally saving the planet, that’s right, each shirt purchased protects 30,000 square feet of endangered habitat around the world.
THOM KELLY sells both men and women’s button-up shirts along with women’s scarves. These scarves are made from leftover material from the shirts. How cool?! Something worth mentioning is how unique their sale page is. Instead of discarding items that aren’t perfect, like most clothing companies do, they put them on their “second chance sale” page. Just another way THOM KELLY is making a difference!
Megan, the founder of THOM KELLY, started this company with a mission: to make better fitting clothing a better way. From my perspective, it seems like she’s really gone above and beyond!
Fit: I would definitely recommend going with your usual size. I’m wearing an XS here and it fits perfectly. I love how many different ways I can style this piece, from a cover-up at the beach to pairing this top with some white jeans, the options are endless! This shirt is easily one of my most-worn pieces this summer, well, right along side my Auburn Jewelry necklace! I love wearing this shirt knowing that doing so is supporting a women-owned business AND helping the planet. Keep any eye out for more ways to style this shirt on my Instagram feed!
As much as I never want summer to end (who’s with me on that?), I already have my eye on some of THOM KELLY’s flannel pieces for fall! This Sawyer Shirt in Navy & Pine Plaid is at the top of my list! Fun Fact: THOM KELLY designed their plaid in-house ensuring that it’s one-of-a-kind and will be loved by you for years to come.
Have any women-owned businesses that you hold close to your heart? Share the love! I’m always looking to support small, women-owned businesses so please pass along any of your favorites either in the comment section below, or feel free to email me styleinherited@gmail.com OR just DM me on Instagram!
*Both of these pieces were gifted to me. My opinions are always 100% honest and 100% my own. I only work with brands I truly love and trust and most importantly, I only work with brands that I know you guys will love too!
